Fan Base Rules and Guidelines

Creation and organization

– One active Fan Base per artist/celebrity.

– Fan Bases are not allowed for band members who have no notable solo career, fictional characters or social media personalities.

– The thread title should be the same as the artist/celebrity's name, and should not contain additional information.

– If you are the thread starter of three active Fan Bases, you are not allowed to create another.

Post in ATRL HQ or send a Help Request if:
– a Fan Base you started has expired, and you want it reopened.
– you want to close down a Fan Base you started, or give it to someone else.
– you want to take over a Fan Base from someone who has lost interest or who has been banned for longer than a month.

– If you don't post in a Fan Base that you've started, we will assume you have lost interest, and someone else may take over without your express permission.

Conduct

– ATRL's general Rules and Guidelines apply also to Fan Base threads.

– If you are not a fan of the artist or you don't have a genuine positive interest in them, do not post in that artist's Fan Base thread.

– Do not bash other artists or their fans. Friendly comparisons between artists are allowed. Do not plot against other fan bases.

– Incidental, brief off topic conversation is allowed. Recurring, lengthy off topic conversation is not. The general conversation should always revolve around the artist, not the lives of the fans. Moderators will subjectively determine whether the thread has been hijacked by off topic conversation, and issue warnings or thread bans if necessary.

– Do not use Fan Base threads as glorified chat rooms. Do not post if all you are doing is saying hello or goodbye. Use Walls/PMs for small talk.

– Do not enter a Fan Base thread and ask "what's going on?" without having read the previous pages of the thread.

– If no one else is posting in your Fan Base, you may only bump it once a day, and only if there is news to share. If there is no news, don't bump it more often than twice a week. If you've gone for two pages without a reply, it's time to let the thread go.

So does this mean its ok to go off topic accidentally once in a while? Or if you go off topic in base a little bit (not enough to derail the thread from its main topic) but many times, will we get warned/thread banned?

What about mass the reporting in base issue?

Exactly, you shouldn't be afraid to go off topic once in a while, or get to know each other a little better. But if you're constantly going off topic because you simply want to increase your post count and you have nothing to say about the artist in question, that's when problems arise. Or if all you do is post "hi" and "bye", then your presence in the thread doesn't add anything of value.

Nothing will change about the reporting, except now it should be a little clearer what's meant to be reported and what isn't. We already warn people who send in too many bogus reports.

I was having a brief, incidental off topic conversation the other day. It was only one post, yet I was issued a warning point for it. Yet I'm pretty sure the person who began that discussion escaped freely with no warnings alongside a few other posters.
