Grammy producer defends Chris Brown Grammy decision.
Quote:
When news broke that Chris Brown would be performing at Sunday's 54th Annual Grammy Awards, some criticized the move. Defending Brown on ABC News Radio Tuesday, Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich says Brown deserves, like anyone else, a second chance.
"We're glad to have him back," Ehrlich said confirming Brown's upcoming performance. "I think people deserve a second chance, you know."
While Ehrlich is forgiving now, he did note that the Grammy Awards were a victim the night Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna as well, considering both of them were to perform sending producers scrambling to fill in those vacant performance slots.
"If you’ll note, he has not been on the Grammys for the past few years and it may have taken us a while to kind of get over the fact that we were the victim of what happened,' said Ehrlich.
Nonetheless Ehrlich insists, Brown is more than deserving of a second chance in light of steps he has taken to rebuild his career and life.
"What he’s done and what he’s done to reclaim his career and seemingly the kind of person that he has become makes him — I don’t even want to use the word eligible — but you know, it’s time," said Ehrlich.
