What do we do about a thread like Stand Your Ground?
The Mod Squad is a terrific place. We can talk about whatever we want. But lately it's been co-opted by the plague that's infested this board.
The plague of unwanted shade.
You see, we have a thread for shading celebrities - it's called Stand Your Ground.
But it seems that no one is using it.
Over the course of a week, I've seen threads - mostly in Celebria - from all sorts of stan groups. The Beyhive, The Monsters, The Navy, Katy Kats, and most certainly Britney's Army.
What do they have in common?
These threads have been started with the sole intention (or at least number one intention) of riling up other fanbases - or blatantly insulting other singers.
Which then creates report after report after report.
I myself have handed out at least fifteen warnings this week.
Others have done a lot more.
But we're tired of it. We're ALL tired of it. We're done.
So, what do we do now?
Simple.
No more of these purposely inflammatory threads - they go in Stand Your Ground.
But if you guys insist on creating them and sitting back while tens of wigs get snatched and at least five people get banned ...
STAND YOUR GROUND WILL BE CLOSED. FOREVER.
Your choice. I'll let the other moderators vent their frustrations.
Ace, can I just say that NHB has become an awful thread? It's like a terrible parody of the old Random Thoughts, but with horrible excessive use of ATRL-slang. My comments that are actually NHB-material get lost in the sea of the other posts that don't belong in the thread.
I don't go to SYG but NHB has really gone downhill. Members don't really fight there anymore. All I see is them chatting about whatever. It has turned to Random Thoughts Part 2.
