(CNN)Two bills that put tighter restrictions on abortion are one step closer to becoming law in Kentucky, both heading to the governor's desk for final approval after being passed by the Republican-led state Legislature on Saturday.

House Bill 2 requires a physician or technician to perform an ultrasound, describe and display the ultrasound images to the mother, and provide audio of the fetal heartbeat to the mother before she may have an abortion.

The text of the bill says the pregnant woman may choose to avert her eyes from the images, and request the volume of the heartbeat be turned down or off.

The bill would not apply in cases where an abortion is required to save the life of the mother or prevent serious risk of bodily harm to the mother, but it does not contain exceptions for cases of rape or incest.

All of this roots back to hating poor people.

A huge chunk of women who have emotional doubts about abortion are not people who are well-off and just don't want the responsibility of a baby. It's usually women who want to be a mother, but have decided they're simply not financially stable enough to have one yet and don't want to put their future child through the struggles they're in. Doing things like this is such an ugly from of emotional abuse.

This is true pertaining to the minority of women getting abortions, the majority are irresponsible hoes who have unprotected sex with anything that moves and looks at abortion as the easy way out. They've ruined it for women who actually may need an abortion tbh

Because we live in a culture that demonizes poor women for having sex and poor women for needing to get an abortion and this is just another action of oppressive guilt put onto women's shoulders.

Taxation is theft, but forcing women to undergo expensive involuntary yet superficial appointments for a non-medical ultrasound? Yeah, totally fine and perfect.

You're not doing this to let her know the health of the fetus. It's not a medical necessity.

I'm libertarian, but I'm also pro-life. If these scans save the life of a single unborn child, they will have been worthwhile.

Please stop with the anti-poor rubbish as well. I'm even more against abortion for the rich as I am for the poor. At least with the poor there could be an argument that the child would suffer.

The idea is to make the process of getting an abortion more prohibitively expensive. The poor women this is targeted against will not be able to afford undergoing the process of having an ultrasound done in addition to the abortion procedure itself. Not to mention the sense of personal shame and guilt that this is also meant to propagate.

There are a lot of problems with this, but anyone who is pro-life will choose to ignore them and applaud this measure.

But you care about children, you said....

How do children take responsibility for the actions of their parents? They're vulnerable. You think most cases of entitlements are childless adults choosing not to work and conning the system?

So the small children with their single mother on the run from their abusive father shouldn't be assisted to find an apartment? We should let these vulnerable members of our society starve on the streets? You're going to demonize the pregnant woman addicted to drugs considering an abortion, but aren't for supporting the newly born child you claim to care about now with medical bills and the eventual cost of special education and things that happen often for children born addicted to drugs?

So let's just get this straight.

Abortion (even when not funded by federal money) = Bad, evil, hateful, disgusting. Kills innocent and vulnerable children.

And so should ANY of these programs be expanded to help these vulnerable children:
SNAP? Nope, let children starve.
Section 8? Nope, let children be homeless.
Medicaid/CHIP? Nope, if parents can't afford care, tell those kids to build up a better immune system.
Expanding public funding for schools? Nope, something something meritocracy!
Expanding public funding for special ed? Nope, those children are a burden on society!
