Honestly, Play On has recently become my favorite Carrie album again. It was the album that got me into her music (especially Cowboy Casanova) so it always feels special and all the songs take me back to discovering Carrie.


Also my order of the album finally arrived today so I just listened to Little Toy Guns and it doesn't sound that good after the first listen. It reminds me a bit of Blown Away and I remember also being a bit underwhelmed by it when I first heard it while everyone was praising it. I LOVE Blown Away now though so hopefully it's the same situation where I just need to give it a few more listens.

The 31-year-old, who is pregnant with her first child, this month launched an activewear clothing line called Calia and has been working on new music with a release expected next year.

“I definitely foresee new music next year,” she says.

“I intend to spend the last couple of months of my pregnancy writing, that is something that doesn’t take a whole lot of physical energy. I can sit and write and spend some of my summer recording.”

With her son in tow, Underwood is hoping to tour Australia in 2015.

“It will happen,” she says. “I’m excited and can’t wait.”

As for being a working mum, Underwood has “no idea” how she’ll manage, particularly when on the road.

“We will figure it out,” she laughs. “I am not the first woman in this business to have a baby so I know it is possible and we will just figure it all out as we go.”
