That may be true but whether she was a few units shy or not, Mariah has sold over 200 million records, beating out Britney anyway. And while most of her single sales might be from the US, the album sales mostly came outside. She sold over 140 million albums and only 63 million came from the US which means the other 77 million, or 55%, came outside the US. That's not local
