He is going to get paid even if her songs flop. It has nothing to do with that. I don't see any other managers talking about their artists like this. Waiting a long period of time to release material can hurt an artists relevancy. Especially if said artists don't have outside ventures, that will keep their fans interested.

In Rihanna's case her manager is basically saying that she is churning out album after album because if she doesn't she will become irrelevant. His comment about the hits is very honest and trust and believe Rihanna has her eyes set on besting Mariah's record too. She may never admit this though.


Personally, I don't have a problem with someone releasing new material at a high speed especially if its an artists that I enjoy. I may look at the chart position of a song/LP but at the end of the day, that is the labels concern. Anyways, as for Rihanna, I have enjoyed a lot of her material though she stepped several steps back with Loud.

Still following the same formula of LOUD, an album created strictly for hits I see. And he just proved it with that statement, a label puppet she is. His quote does more damage than good, and I disagree with his statement.

Rihanna is the executive producer. She co-wrote 6 tracks, and co-produced 2 tracks.

She created this album, and its her most cohesive work ever according to reviews.
