30. Natasha Bedingfield - Touch (Chart:#22, Airplay:#21, Fans:#23, Votes:111,466)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOa4axPVHEc
MUSIC: http://www.natashabedingfield.com/http://www.myspace.com/natashabedingfield
Natasha Bedingfield scored her biggest endchart showing back in 2005 and 2008 with Unwritten and Pocketful Of Sunshine respectively. Natasha continues to roll with the #30 song of the year in Touch and frankly it was a song that never really got going for the most part. The fact she's here is remarkable.
SHIFT:She was slated for #21, but last minute pushes from some songs dropped her to #30.
HIGHER:This COULD be #1 if it had more chart success, airplay and consistency.
LOWER:This is one of those hot and cold songs, could be anywhere from 1-55 on here for 2010.
29. Stephanie Smith - Back To Innocence (Chart:#35, Airplay:#36, Fans:#39, Votes:114,366)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77PMkoatkxw
MUSIC: http://www.stephanieisagirl.com/http://www.myspace.com/stephaniesmithmusic
Stephanie's 3rd appearance on this year's endchart and 2nd in the top 100 comes in at #29 with the edgy song Back To Innocence. The video for this song can be seen through the link. Stephanie shed away from the easy-going sounds from Not Afraid and turned up the heat with this fierce EP/album.
SHIFT:Up from #35 to #29.
HIGHER:If the airplay didn't die down so fast, she'd be a #1 contender. Airplay was never there maxing out at #14.
LOWER:Lack of consistency.
28. Runner Runner - So Obvious (Chart:#36, Airplay:#39, Fans:#34, Votes:119,908)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dgrjc9xGvtE
MUSIC: http://www.myspace.com/runnerrunnerhttp://www.runnerrunnermusic.com/band/
These rockers came out of nowhere so you can say that they are this year's surprise band. So Obvious started its run in June and never stopped rolling. They got to #2 on airplay and are currently #10. These guys can really show their muscle.
SHIFT:They were #37, but they got red-hot and are now #28.
HIGHER:If it was released to the countdown in February, they'd be #1 contenders.
LOWER:None.
27. Kaleigh Ilia - Everywhere (Chart:#29, Airplay:#23, Fans:#29, Votes:127,500)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKGodx1GUrU (no Everywhere, but here's another video from her...you can hear Everywhere on her Myspace)
MUSIC: http://www.myspace.com/kaleighiliahttp://kaleighilia.com
Kaleigh Ilia is another singer that broke into the big-time on my chart this year. Like Kelly Fauth, she did quite a bit of damage on the charts and on airplay. Currently sits #19 on the weekly airplay chart and hanging in the 40s on the weekly countdown. 2011 could be a year where she might just dominate....if things go her way.
SHIFT:No change in position.
HIGHER/LOWER:The best she could do.
26. Muse - Uprising (Chart:#19, Airplay:#17, Fans:#18, Votes:134,992)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8KQmps-Sog
MUSIC: http://www.muse.mu/http://www.myspace.com/muse
The 2nd of 2 top 100 appearances from Muse checks in at #26 for 2010. This song gets you going and it is edgy. Their best song to-date IMO and one of their highest endchart showings ever. 2011 begs the question if they can keep it up with Undisclosed Desires which has underwhelmed so far.
SHIFTown from #19 to #26.
HIGHER:The carryover effect from 2009 can hurt at times, but if most of its damage was in 2010 and not 2009, they'd be rolling.
LOWER:None, except for the fact it was already a 2009 smash.
25. Frentik - Stronger (Chart:#17, Airplay:#18, Fans:#19, Votes:139,889)
MUSIC: http://www.myspace.com/frentikhttp://www.facebook.com/frentikhttp://www.frentik.com/http://www.iheartradio.com/new2/featured/f/2973 (there's no video for Stronger)
The 2nd of 2 from Emily Jaye's band Frentik. This is the first song from them to chart and topped my airplay chart during the year. 2011 brings Firecracker, Red Riot and Not a B*tch, keep an eye out for them.
SHIFTrops from #17 to #25.
HIGHER:Strong airplay all the way.
LOWER:None.
24. Joanna Beasley - Wishing Well (Chart:#20, Airplay:#20, Fans:#20, Votes:140,014)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwG5Kufqpc0
MUSIC: http://www.joannabeasley.com/http://www.myspace.com/joannamartinobeasleyhttp://youtube.com/joannamartinobeasley
Joanna has a top 25 finish on the endchart for the 2nd time in 3 years, although Energy did originally get released in 2005-2006, but it graced my chart in 2008. Wishing Well did not do as much damage as Energy on the countdown or airplay, consistency was stronger however. Though she has been relatively quiet lately, it will be interesting to see where she goes from here.
SHIFT:She was slated to be #20, but she winds up at #24.
HIGHER:More airplay would've kept her higher on this list.
LOWER:No video
23. Sara Bareilles - King Of Anything (Chart:#31, Airplay:#32, Fans:#32, Votes:144,561)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR7-AUmiNcA
MUSIC: http://www.sarabmusic.com/http://www.myspace.com/sarabareilleshttp://www.facebook.com/sarabareilles
Everything came up roses for Sara Bareilles. She was top 10 in 2008 with Love Song by finishing 6th, and comes up 23rd this year with King Of Anything which became her best song ever on the VH1 countdown by topping once. On this countdown here, she's done very well and will be riding momentum into 2011.
SHIFT:Was #31 but now is #23 with the shift.
HIGHER:Sara has a lot of airplay and chart success. Could be top 20.
LOWER:None.
22. Jessica Drake - The End (Chart:#12, Airplay:#12, Fans:#16, Votes:148,778) (No video for The End, hear it on her page)
MUSIC: http://www.myspace.com/jessicadrakehttp://www.jessicadrakemusic.com/
Jessica Drake is a singer with that pop/rock edge. She is a dangerous contender with this song which topped the daily airplay a whopping 14 times which is 3rd most for the year. She did very well on the weekly charts too.
SHIFT:Jessica was #13 but fell to #22 on the shift.
HIGHER:Great airplay, top 10 for most of the first half of 2010.
LOWER:Sluggish finish.
21. Kris Allen - Live Like We're Dying (Chart:#14, Airplay:#14, Fans:#12, Votes:152,409)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbfeSImDntw
MUSIC: http://www.krisallenofficial.com/http://www.myspace.com/krisallenmusic
Kris Allen's 2nd appearance comes in at an impressive #21. The impact Kris had in 2010 is remarkable. As things continue to boil, we learn that there are talented singers everywhere you look. Kris's video here is very interesting, see if you like it if you haven't seen it somehow.
SHIFTropped from #14 to #21 on the shift.
HIGHER:Solid throughout the first half of 2010.
LOWER:Stumbled in the final weeks of its run. Could be lower than #25.
VIDEO BREAK:Last year's #3 song of 2009.
After the break, the top 50 Artists of the year, and still to come...the TOP 20 SONGS OF 2010 + the top 10 artists to watch in 2011. Stay tuned!

VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy4S8s7Fg-k
MUSIC: http://ronibryant.com/http://www.myspace.com/ronibryanthttp://www.reverbnation.com/ronibryant
The 2nd appearance from Roni Bryant. This is the first song from her to chart and rocketeered to a fast start by dominating #1 on the airplay early and had a lot of success. But 2011 means she will have to really live up to expectations as she has the #20 Song Of The Year with I Can't Be Me.
SHIFT:Was #12, but dipped to #20.
HIGHER:One of the strongest airplay songs of the year, spent 11 days on top of the daily airplay which is 4th most for the year.
LOWER:Not enough chart success compared to the heavy-hitters.
19. Fireflight - Desperate (Chart:#23, Airplay:#24, Fans:#22, Votes:177,450)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQctVDvIFWg
MUSIC: http://www.fireflightrock.com/http://www.myspace.com/fireflighthttp://www.purevolume.com/fireflight
If you think this band couldn't do better than 2008's smash hit Unbreakable, you'd be wrong. Fireflight took it to the next level in 2010 with their highest endchart showing ever with a #19 finish. Desperate became the band's biggest chart hit on my countdown, consistency was there but airplay was not better than Unbreakable. They finish with the #19 Song Of The Year for Desperate.
SHIFT:Was slated for #23 but got more votes and is up to #19 now.
HIGHER:Solid airplay all year long, never backing down and never falling out of serious contention.
LOWER:The only reason it's not higher is because the competition was so stiff.
18. Darling Parade - Lose You (Chart:#11, Airplay:#11, Fans:#11, Votes:187,567)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BK_fTi-HomA
MUSIC: http://www.myspace.com/darlingparadehttp://www.reverbnation.com/darlingparadehttp://www.facebook.com/darlingparadehttp://twitter.com/darlingparade
Kristin Kearns and the rest of Darling Parade made a statement the last 2 years by finishing in the top 20 on the endchart with this song, joining the likes of He Said She Said and It's All You. These rockers from Nasvhille area are looking to become an elite player in the music scene and maybe become a mainstream act to watch in the future. Darling Parade's Lose You is the #18 Song Of The Year for 2010.
SHIFTropped from #11 to #18.
HIGHER:Tons of airplay and success on the charts
LOWER:Ran out of gas from 2009 run.
17. Bomshel - Just Fine (Chart:#27, Airplay:#29, Fans:#24, Votes:194,502)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDsBLBO5yf4
MUSIC: http://www.myspace.com/bomshelhttp://www.cmt.com/artists/az/bomshel/artist.jhtmhttp://www.last.fm/music/Bomshel
Bomshel as I said earlier is quickly becoming one of the fast-risers in music these days. Just Fine is on a roll and 2011 could be an even bigger year for them if they played their cards right. Just Fine is the #17 Song Of The Year and it comes courtesy of Bomshel.
SHIFT:Took a big jump from #30 to #17.
HIGHER:This is rising fast so this is the highest they are.
LOWER:None.
16. Theory Of A Deadman - All Or Nothing (Chart:#28, Airplay:#27, Fans:#28, Votes:203,678)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NhkfpQmjyU
MUSIC: http://www.theoryofadeadman.com/http://www.myspace.com/theoryofadeadmanhttp://www.last.fm/music/Theory+of+a+Deadman
The boys from Canada took a long time to become even a countdown contender on my chart. Then comes Bad Girlfriend, Not Meant To Be and All Or Nothing and all of a sudden they are a hidden juggernaut. These guys are a band to keep an eye on. Theory Of A Deadman ends up with the #16 song of 2010 for All Or Nothing.
SHIFT:They move from #26-#16, #16 is their best showing ever on the endyear chart.
HIGHER:None.
LOWER:They should be 30ish, but they had solid airplay down the stretch.
And there you have it, 20-16. Up next are Lifehouse, Ke$ha, Three Days Grace, Shinedown and Everlife. Which one of these will come up with that #11 spot and can say that they were inches short of the top 10 goal? No, Ke$ha isn't the #1 Song Of The Year btw. Stay tuned, it's gonna get interesting!
Me:OK, we have reached the top 15. These songs just missed the top 10, stay tuned to see what they are.
15. Three Days Grace - The Good Life (Chart:#26, Airplay:#26, Fans:#27, Votes:210,688)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzRk5EIHAoI
MUSIC: http://www.threedaysgrace.com/http://www.myspace.com/threedaysgracehttp://www.last.fm/music/Three+Days+Grace
Like Theory Of A Deadman, these rockers are still growing as we speak. This is their 3rd top 25 finish on the endchart since 2004, believe it or not that's the most by a Canadian all-male band in that 7-year span, and that's saying something. You have Nickelback, Simple Plan, Sum 41, Theory Of A Deadman, etc....only this all-male Canadian band can lay claim to that honor. Three Days Grace did very well in airplay with this song and take #15 Song Of The Year with The Good Life.
SHIFT:Went from #25-#15.
HIGHER: They have been rising fast in their fanbase and their music continued to grow, but they are still here.
LOWER: None.
14. Everlife - What's Beautiful (Chart:#21, Airplay:#22, Fans:#26, Votes:223,596)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1n2xMH1G7E
MUSIC: http://everlife.squarespace.comhttp://www.myspace.com/everlifehttp://twitter.com/everlifehttp://www.facebook.com/everlife
If you thought Theory Of A Deadman's journey was improbable, Everlife's may even be more improbable. The veteran all-girl Christian Pop/Rock trio shined in the past with Find Yourself In You and I Could Get Used To This which all seemed like fun upbeat pop/rock songs back then. But they got a bit more serious with What's Beautiful and became their biggest hit by far. Twice on top of the countdown, twice ahead of everyone in the weekly airplay, these girls definitely brought it with their edgy video and song. What's Beautiful checks in as the #14 Song Of The Year for 2010....and maybe the most improbable story of the year.
SHIFT:They go from #22-#14. Everlife's fans stepped up big in the votes.
HIGHER:This song has been consistent all year. 40+ weeks and going strong on the countdown.
LOWER:None.
13. Shinedown - If You Only Knew (Chart:#16, Airplay:#15, Fans:#15, Votes:223,610)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xY0HCKOmrW0
MUSIC: http://www.shinedown.com/http://www.myspace.com/shinedownhttp://new.music.yahoo.com/shinedown/
One of the strongest songs of the year was Shinedown's If You Only Knew which takes home the #13 Song Of The Year, partly because the airplay and chart consistency were strong. These guys have been holding it down for a while and score their biggest hit ever on my list.
SHIFT:They jumped from #15 to #13.
HIGHER/LOWER:Sounds right.
12. Ke$ha - Tik Tok (Chart:#25, Airplay:#28, Fans:#13, Votes:245,685)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iP6XpLQM2Cs
MUSIC: http://www.keshasparty.com/http://www.myspace.com/kesha http://www.last.fm/music/Ke$ha http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/kesha_/artist.jhtml
Ke$ha makes another appearance on the endchart with her worldwide smash hit Tik Tok. This is one of the rare times where a long-time #1 single on the hot 100 finishes just outside the top 10 on the endchart. This song was EVERYWHERE! Tik Tok winds up as the #12 Song Of The Year for 2010 as Ke$ha looks to ride the momentum with her future song releases. 2011 = Ke$ha's year again?
SHIFT:The fans of Ke$ha pushed for this, putting Ke$ha up from #28-#12.
HIGHER:Great airplay all-around with good chart run.
LOWER:A bit overplayed, but she could easily be top 10 for 2010.
11. Lifehouse - Halfway Gone (Chart:#15, Airplay:#16, Fans:#17, Votes:257,469)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xodmwwNV18w
MUSIC: http://www.lifehousemusic.com/http://www.myspace.com/lifehouse
Lifehouse has been a constant force on my chart for a decade now. Halfway Gone strengthened their legacy as one of the best bands to have charted this decade with this song and very cool video. The video features singer Lauren De Miranda. (Google her online, she has great music too) This video may look like Move Along from The All-American Rejects, but in a way it's not. These guys are skilled and Jason Wade continues to hold down the fort with this band. Halfway Gone is this year's #11 Song Of The Year and Lifehouse couldn't be happier.
SHIFT:Jumped from #16-#11.
HIGHER:There is a great all-around factor to this song. Solid stats all year.
LOWER:None.
Still need more Lifehouse/Everlife fix? Here's two classic videos from them

thanks all for staying tuned to my countdown. Time for the Judgment.
Me:Welcome to the Judging Room. 10 singers looking to make their case for why their fans and everyone should vote for them. We have Hilary Scott, Chester Bennington, Shelby Spallione, Bekki D. and Sarah Corum who are of the band representers, and we have Lights, Janell Wheeler, Stephanie Brownlee, Carrie Underwood and Orianthi of the solo representers. It's a 5-5 split. OK folks, make your case.
-------------------------
Hilary:You should vote for me because we have the only song in the top 10 that was a big hit on billboard and our band has had a huge following this year. Need You Now should be the Song Of The Year. Our video may not be the best, but we write some pretty great lyrics and are here to stay. I hope you will vote for Lady Antebellum, thanks and happy holidays.
Lights:Hilary makes a good argument. OK, you should vote for me because this is the third consecutive year I've finished in the top 10 on the Endchart. 2008 had Drive My Soul, 2009 had February Air, 2010 has Second Go. I deserve to be #1 because I have a great fanbase, a wonderful backing band and my Lights army is strong as it could ever be. Please vote for me, thanks.
Bekki:My turn. I think you guys at home should vote for me and my band because we bring the heat. We're from Canada too and our song Above Me really got good reviews. Domenica is here to stay in 2011 and we will make it happen. Please give us your vote, it means the world to us. Thank you and god bless.
Orianthi:Very good arguments, but I got one better. I think I should get your votes because I had the honor of appearing in the Michael Jackson concert film for This Is It and I gained a great following over the year. My song According To You doesn't have the best lyrics, but the video is wicked. I hope to get your vote because being an Aussie songstress, we don't get a lot of recognition on here. Give me your vote and I will promise to honor the fan spirit. Thanks.
Chester:Orianthi's argument sounds very convincing. OK well you all know that my band has been making it big for 10 years now and every step from One Step Closer to today, we continued to make it happen. We've toured, recorded, rocked, shined our way to the top of the music biz. Linkin Park is one of the World's Best Bands out there and The Catalyst is such an epic video. Please vote for us because we want to become the first band ever to have 2 years where we were the #1 Song Of The Year. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thanks and a Merry Christmas to you.
Janell:Those are great statements, it's my turn. I'm of the American Idol mindset and while I have no video to back my case, I think you should vote for me because I took the road Carrie Underwood went through. Though I didn't win, I made it to the top 24. I have such great and passionate fans and I carried the weight of the world for all of this season's American Idol contestants. I Like Me is a great song and I think you seriously need to vote for it. I finished top 3 out of 16 in a CMT Country Strong, because I have those great fans who voted their butt off. Please give me your vote for I Like Me, I appreciate it. Thanks again.
Sarah:My reasons for voting for us are simple. We are a new band looking for a big breakthrough. Our song Night Chorus has captivated everyone this year. We deserve to win so badly and I myself will be so happy if you gave Threadspinner the love we need. Thanks again.
Stephanie:Giving a simple argument doesn't help your case Sarah. I have a simple reason too however, I honestly don't care if I'm #1 or not. I'm happy for just being here. To all my fans from all over the world, your support got me here today and I appreciate it all. If you do wish to vote for me, my song is Keep It Real and I am bringing Australian Country music on the map. Do what your heart tells you, best wishes and take care.
Shelby:Not to be mean but Sarah gave a weak argument. But it may work. You really need to vote for Read Between The Lines because even though we have the most generic song of them all but we have some of the best fans in the world. Our KSM troops have been with us since Day 1 and even though we split up, we're still happy that you still will support the band's music. My advice is, go with the song you will want to play over and over for the next 5 years. Think carefully, and good luck. Love you all and thanks again.
Carrie:I'll be brief. Vote for me because I have the most experience in the music scene among all soloists, I've been there and done that with so many songs and please keep supporting my music, especially my song in contention this year with Cowboy Casanova. Love you all and stay blessed. Thank you all.
-----------------------
Me:Great statements everybody. We'll see who wins. Which do you guys think gave the best and worst argument?
Hilary:Best argument goes to Janell. Hers felt the most heartfelt. Worst I think goes to Sarah.
Lights:Best for me goes to Orianthi because I know how much Michael Jackson meant to the music biz. I respect that a lot. Worst goes to Bekki, sorry fellow Nutmegger.
Bekki:I understand. Best for me goes to Shelby and the worst will go to Sarah.
Orianthi:I give my Best to Lights. Who can play as wicked a Synth as her? I give my worst actually to Janell, because of the video argument. I feel that if you don't have a quality video, it hurts your chances.
Chester:But Orianthi, Rachel Farris was #1 for 2004 with It's All You.
Orianthi:Still....long-term.
Chester:I understand. My Best goes to Stephanie because she gave an honest reason. Worst goes to...myself. LOL. No seriously, it's Bekki.
Janell:Best for me is Shelby and Worst for me is Bekki.
Sarah:Best = Shelby, Worst = Bekki.
Stephanie:My Best belongs to Carrie and my Worst goes to Orianthi.
Orianthi:No love?
Stephanie:It's a toss-up for me, everyone had wonderful arguments.
Shelby:I will give my vote to Chester for Best. My Worst belongs to Orianthi.
Carrie:Best for me is Shelby and Worst for me is Bekki. Sorry Bekks.
Me:So we have 2 Australians, 2 Canadians and the rest are Americans. Who wins? Stay tuned.
5/5 and 5/5
Theory of A Deadman, Three Days Grace, Shinedown, Lifehouse
Can't wait for your top 10.
I hope Lights wins!!
I like Lights a lot too, but of the 10 I think she has the 4th best of the songs IMO. If we were to base this countdown on personal interest, a lot of these positions would be different.
I wanna thank you again for making this countdown possible. Without you, there would be no show.
That said.....
LET'S KICK OFF THE TOP 10!
HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10. Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (Chart:#10, Airplay:#10, Fans:#6, Votes:345,692)
VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWWDm9x48ak
MUSIC: http://ladyantebellum.com/http://www.myspace.com/ladyantebellumhttp://ladyantebellum.blogspot.com/
Lady Antebellum fronted by Hillary Scott score their first top 10 finish on the Endchart in their career. Need You Now amazed many audiences throughout 2010 as they hit #1 twice on my daily chart, topped my daily airplay once and also was a monster hit on the hot 100 songs. This dynamic trio is the highest Country group on here and they score the #10 Song Of The Year with Need You Now.
SHIFT:Was #10, but will remain #10.
HIGHER:Most successful single of the top 10 on this list. Should be higher.
LOWER:None, except for that fact that it did stumble in the end.
That's one song, but what are the other 9? Stay tuned.
