These new Pokemon better have some impressive move pools because with the stats I'm seeing they aren't even going to make a dent in the meta game besides Goodra and Aegislash
Unless they want to go for that whole stalling meta game like we had in Gen III.
And why did GF hype the Fairy type to fix the balancing in the Meta Game when they didn't even make any decent new Fairy Pokemon.
Gardevoir, Mawhile, and Sylveon can't fix it on their owns

Am I the only one who thinks that the new Pokemon weren't even the focus of this new generation, though? I feel like these games were obviously a momentous occasion for the Pokemon franchise from stepping out of 2D into 3D graphics and with various new gameplay features such as customisation and 'Mega Evolution', and the attention wasn't really on the new Pokemon.
Obviously the new Pokemon are fairly important but they aren't the center of attention like they were for Gen V (obviously because back then Unova was 100% new pokemon). 70 isn't a bad number at all when you factor in everything else that has changed about these games, and so I don't feel annoyed/sad/bothered etc by the apparent "lack" of Gen 6 pokemon.
As you said, there are 450 pokemon to use in the regional dex. Obviously majority of those Pokemon are "old", but with new moves, abilities, and now Mega Evolutions, we can somewhat rediscover a lot of these Pokemon again. With the new graphics on top of that, it's hardly going to feel tired and stale even if one had a team purely made up of Kanto pokemon.

And they added like 20 new dragon types Charizard, Gyarados, Ampharos, Dragalge, Goodra, Tyrantrum, Noivern, Zygarde + Megachomp. They just made Dragon even more OP instead of fixing it.

I agree with Jungle. I got the feeling they really wanted to showcase the older Pokemon because of the new 3D graphics. We'll be seeing these old Pokemon we may have never got the opportunity to train or maybe have trained several times in a completely new light. The sheer amount of Pokemon catchable will keep things fresh.

I agree. Even tho it is common that the even gens focus more on gameplay and features. This one in particular really seems to be mainly focusing on the said things

exactly! people are not taking into account how fresh and updated all the 'old' pokemon are going to feel thanks to the great 3D graphics, mega-evolutions, Fairy-Type, and other enhancements to movesets etc. B/W had 150 new pokemon and it didn't seem as fresh as this is looking.

If anything I thinks it going to become more offensive. Mega-Evos have a lot of hitting power and unless we get some great new defensive moves the meta is only going to continue to get more and more offensive.

What's funny is people were complaining that Gen V had to many Pokemon and too many legendary Pokemon, and they hated that were stuck playing with those 150 for the entire game
Girls, we have to realize Gamefreak can't keep pumping out 150+ Pokemon every generation, it'll just end up becoming chaos. I think they're even figuring that out. From the start when Mega Evolution's were shown that this was going to be Gamefreaks way of testing out how to continue the franchise without over expanding the Dex to the point where collecting them all would be a life long task.
