It had been a week and there probably was little to no improvement. Hospitals are expensive as well. People don't stay on life support for weeks/months end like you see in movies.
Money was no issue for them, and yes they do. It's happened in my family, they were on life support for 4 months.
I found out when I got out of work today. I cried on the way home and a bit after.
Ever since I was a little kid. I remember my mom and I would always watch her do the red carpet interviews acting outrageous. Even as a 7-8 year old she made me laugh. Now, I have watched Fashion Police weekly and she has been such an amazing entertainer I was fortunate to grow up with. This saddens me so much.
People in this thread who are trying to act like they're above offensive jokes and opinions. These are the same people who post ice bucket challenge videos because they think it makes then enlightened and/or charitable. Especially humorous are the folks who are just holding a grudge because their fave wore something tragic and Joan commented on it.
Ugh. My mind can't even process the fact that she's no longer with us. I just remembered that tomorrow is Friday and I got excited for a new episode of Fashion Police, and then I remembered
She may have been 81, but she still had so much life and passion. So devastating
Tbh, I'd like to apologize for what I said about Joan on my twitter account. Her comments on Gaza and the Cleveland kidnapping victims were vile, but I guess she wasn't a totally bad person after reading through some of these pages.
She still should have been nicer during her final days, because frankly, people with a good memory will keep comments like that fresh with them.
omg this is so sad i know she said some really mean things in her life time but it feels weird not having her be in the entertainment business anymore she was very brutal, harsh , funny, sarcastic and witty. may you rest in peace Joan
Joan would be here laughing along with all the people here celebrating her death/ making lame jokes. The woman didn't care. That's why there's so much salt in this thread and god bless her for it. Whatever you think of her, the fact that she was a *woman* who could care less about being liked is revolutionary.

The thing is that she NEVER, even in her young years chose what to say because of how people would think about it or her - why should she have started now? Surely not because she wanted to be liked.
I think it's great that you took time to read about her and re-evaluate your judgement but that is the last and ultimate point about Joan Rivers: She did not care what people think.
Even though I knew it's the end for her when the news first broke out that she's on life support, I still had a shred of hope that somehow she'll pull through, take a bit of a break and then come back to Fashion Police and joke about all that happened. The notion of not having her around to make us laugh by saying downright nasty things about celebrities, including herself, truly breaks my heart. Thank god we have so much footage of her, with Fashion Police, Joan Knows Best, Apprentice, In Bed with Joan, and countless interviews she did throughout her impressive career. I'll be going back to those whenever I need a good laugh.
