Is it me or did it seem like before Interscope had that meeting that they were possibly going to release the album earlier? But then they moved it back most likely because every artist and their momma is releasing in September, October and November? I mean Gaga can handle competition, but it would be better for her to slay in her own lane if you know what I mean.

i was thinking that because gaga, troy, and jeff all alluded to an album out in 2012. i guess they decided to push it back and focus on it a little bit more. kind of glad.

Yeah, and that's not bad, but they did the same with BTW too. The lead single probably would have been released sometime in November or something.

I actually feel like Interscope just wasn't satisfied with her music. I hope it's just because of promotional reasons, but why choose a Q1 release for the album, then?

I'm beginning to have high hopes. I hope they think everything through and stick with their original plans. Like, they need to figure out which singles they're going to release, who's gonna direct the videos, what kind of promo, etc. and stick with the schedule.

That's totally possible, but then again it's weird. She did say that the team loved her album and that they were allowing her to give the albums name in September. Which leads me to believe that, at that time they were okay with the music. But she's still in the recording processes probably trying to record full versions from the demos she's already written / recorded. The promotional stuff they're aiming for is much like the snowball effect they did with BTW. Everything she's doing now will lead up to new music until the album release. So they're probably doing that instead of just worrying about holiday sales. (stupid idea imo)

She's doing what they want. She worked with ZEDD, supposedly with Madeon. Whatever she's making, it's commercial and I don't think they'll have a problem with it. Maybe it's because she decided to do a video anthology or maybe they decided to focus on the fragrance and the tour before putting out another album so she can properly promote it. I mean, releasing a 2012 album would mean literally 0 promotional time until 2013 and that's just not good business.

Q1 = easy #1 album. No big first week sales = no big second week drop (like btw). I think they're gonna aim for longevity more than initial sales.

It also means weaker sales, maybe faster drop off the charts because of that while other albums selling longer stay and people forgetting it. I know it sounds silly, but I'm afraid of that move.

I don't like it, either. I just really hope it's not backfiring at them, because no new releases as competitions doesn't mean she'll easily slay the charts.

I don't think Q1 release is necessarily a bad thing. It really depends on how good the music is. I mean, look at 21. Then again, Adele is a freak of nature.

It's very dependent on how they play things out. She could very well have her album come out in March instead of January or February. And You saw how good BTW did as a single in February. (even though it was frontloaded)

I listened to only the singles + promo's, 5 sec of a snippet of each song and the full GH, MTN, EC...I won't listen to that much for Artpop
