But her tour is successful because is sold out no matter you like it or not what she does there.

And just because Circus is not the best selling album of all, it doesn't mean that is not doing great. It's not like there's a huge difference between 3.5 million and 3 million (worldwide sales).

For example, it's like saying that "I'm Not Dead" was a failure just because "Loose" (by Nelly Furtado) sold much more. That doesn't make any sense. Both albums did great.

haha, I'm honored that you were kinda agreeing with me on some of my previous posts. my comment regarding the VMA performance was a half-joke, but since I don't like using emoticons that much people didn't get it. But on the other hand, you mentioned that Britney was getting bad press in that period. Let me remind you that this bad press thing mainly took off exactly after that performance, which was a big trainwreck. But if you ask me, bad press is better than nothing. At the end of the day, people remember the name of the artist and not what the press is writing about her. Bad promo is still promo.

and one more thing...I can think of another explanation as to why she isn't performing and promoting at many shows: I am sure Britney has got some self-esteem and self-respect, and she choses not to sing live during her performances (I don't know why though), so she might be feeling kinda embarassed in front of her peers and critics and show organizers for lip-syncing.

The bad press was going on throughout 2007. The VMA performance was just the cherry on top of an awful year for Britney. Nothing is going to convince me that the constant media scrutiny boosted her album sales--American public opinion was overwhelmingly negative and the press was just adding fuel to the fire. The only people who bought Blackout were the stans, hence the slow sales.

As for promotion... That's a dead end discussion. Nobody really knows so I think it's a waste of time to argue about it. However, nobody expects Britney to sing live; that has never been her niche. She doesn't pretend to be Christina or P!nk, she's famous for being herself, and that's how it always has been.

Now, if we combine this post, and your previous post, we will get that: VMA performance=cherry on top of the bad press and bad press=bad sales. So according to your logic VMA performance was one of factors causing bad sales for Blackout. and thats what I said and after that I got criticized heavily.

and we're not saying that P!nk is rock, we are saying that she's not pure pop either. Its hard to classify her as having just one sound. and she got a grammy for best ROCK vocal performance btw, which means that she has some rock elements.

P!nk has already done that on IND Tour, where there was not a big spectacle, but the show was so powerful (due mainly to her vocals and emotion), that it was unforgettable.
