Those "flop franchises" have way more history than the Heat:
Philadelphia- Wilt Chamberlain, Moses Malone, Dr. J
Detroit- the "Bad Boy Pistons"
Golden State- Rick Barry
The Boston Celtics- 17 championships, 8 peat, Larry Bird, Bill Russell, Kevin McHale, Kevin Garnett, John Havlicek, Robert Parish
Los Angeles Lakers- 16 championships, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West, "Showtime Lakers era"
I'll give you Golden State... even though they've won just as many championships as Miami. There's nothing legendary about the damn Miami Heat

umm lebron alone trumps them all. and thats not including wade, bosh, shaq, alonzo, etc.... Lebron is the best player in the history of the league, like him alone makes the cavaliers a better franchise than most!

Really, this Thunder season feels like what last season would have been had Westbrook been healthy. They're a team on a mission. The only team that I think can beat them is the Spurs.

oh pls, the senior citizen nets wont do a thing against the heat in the playoffs! the won't even make it past the raptors
plus i agree with you about the thunder, but they just cant beat the heat

2. the lakers suck, and will continue to suck for some yrs. the west will belong to okc, spurs, clippers, warriors, blazers, and rockets. legit every team will be better than the lakers
|
memphis matches up much better with the spurs. they play at a slower pace. memphis can not run the court like okc can. they'd be better off playing san antonio.
lakers suck FOR NOW. if you really think warriors, blazers and maybe even the clippers rosters will be like this in the next 2-5 year you're the one who is delusional.
edit: you're a heat fan. that explains it all.

Bill Russell won 11 titles in 13 seasons in a time where EVERY team had at least one Hall of Famer. Kareem had the most unstoppable shot in the history of the league and was its best player for a DECADE. Bird was the best pure shooter the league has ever seen, Magic the best passer. LeBron may be as good as those guys someday, but I don't think he has done enough yet. He's a top 10 player of all time right now, and only those who truly hate LeBron would say otherwise, but he's not above Bill Russell.
Hell, we haven't even mentioned the GOAT yet, and he would eat LeBron's lunch and then kick him while he's down. That's not an opinion. Michael Jordan was just that ruthless.

I think they're about equal, but I do think LeBron will pass him before too long. Kobe also had won multiple titles before he turned 30, but he also had Shaq beside him, and he wasn't even close to being the player he would become later. LeBron has clearly been the best player on a team that has made three straight Finals and won two straight titles. Unpopular opinion, maybe, but I think the Lakers with prime Shaq still win at least two titles without Kobe. No way the Heat accomplish what they have these last couple of years without LeBron, obviously. They've both won the same amount of titles as the alpha dog, but LeBron clearly has the advantage because of youth.
The one thing I'm excited to see with LeBron is how he handles getting older. If he changes his game to fit how his body is changing and excels in his mid-30's like Jordan did, it's going to be an absolute joy to watch.

Oh girl!
Jerry West is the damn NBA logo for a reason.
Bill Russell won 11 championships (2 as a coach), 5 MVPs, and is the damn Final's MVP trophy. He lead the most dominant era in NBA history. LeBron's not doing it.
Michael Jordan > LeBron
Larry Bird > LeBron
Magic Johnson > LeBron
Kareem Abdul Jabbar > LeBron
Wilt Chamberlain > LeBron
Kevin Garnett is one of the best defensive anchors in NBA history, one of the most complete players, and arguably the best PF in history, only second to perhaps Duncan who many consider to be a 5. I will say LeBron has a better legacy than him, but you can't really compare the two.
I don't like Kobe so I'm perfectly fine with saying he's at least on his level. I'll agree that Shaq somewhat carried Kobe, but Kobe have one of the most versatile offensive games in history.
