I'm actually playing TS2 right now. So superior to the other trash. The fact that it was made 10 years before TS4 and 5 years before TS3 and it still looks more fresh in 2016

I've been playing Sims 2 for about 6 hours a day for the past week or so (not every day, like every other day)

I honestly need rehab, I've been addicted to this game since 2006. I'm playing one big family who are split into different houses like the retired parents etc and I'm still not bored.

I'm never moving past this game, now I know how Smash Bros Melee players feel.

This is the truth.

TS2 was the game's peak in terms of execution. It hit every nail there was while being refreshing and entertaining.
TS3 brought many new ideas to the table, and some old ones as well but the execution was a bit of a mess. Still fantastic.
TS4 is years behind and still thinks its offering quality material. It's not just the execution that was off, it was the base material as well.

I was the biggest Sims 2 fan. I had a fansite, fanforum, the works... But I just recently got into Sims 3. I had the base game forever but never really played. I used origin with that and got some of the expansions and its quite fun! I made sure to avoid the messy glitchy expansions. I got WA/Generations, Ambitions, Seasions, & Late Night. I got stuff that mostly added to the base game itself. Whats yalls favorite expansion?

Same here! I think I got the base game in 2005 and have been playing it on and off since then. I went through a Sims 3 phase for a few years but I always find myself coming back to Sims 2. Thinking of playing again later today

What bandwagon? I've loved this game for over 10 years and have always maintained that it's the best in the franchise.

These comparisons

The Sims 1 games are the better ones though (Bustin Out, Urbz). The Sims 2 was mostly good, but the console Sims 2 games had better graphics and we're just better overall.

The Sims 3 is more like Artpop and The Sims 4 is like Cheek to Cheek (solid performance but doesn't break any new territory in its market).

Nothing about the Sims 3 is worthy of BTW status. Ambitions onwards is a broken mess that EA even gave up fixing.

I mean I do have a trillion mods and CC in my Sims 2 but you can still get hours of enjoyment out of Sims 2 base game with no mods or CC, whereas Sims 3 will not even work properly without some mods. Plus fixing their disgusting faces is also a must.

Gameplay wise Sims 3 did not add anything crucial to the game other than open world which made the game extremely slow, even though I do enjoy using it. The endless glitches and crashing as a result isn't worth it, on a fast computer in 2016 Sims 2 takes seconds to load community lots as well.

Sims 3 was a big leap forward for players like me though who enjoy the building and customization aspect. But from a game-play point of view i can understand, i used to play Sims 2 for the whole day whilst after i finish building my houses and families i usually get bored after a few hours for play for Sims 3

No way

You could completely customise the looks of the Sims in 2 without any CC, no matter what you do in 3 they still have ugly fat round faces.

I agree with that though, I still make massive houses in Sims 2 because I know how but I much prefer the building tools in 3 and 4, so easy and fun to mess around with, specifically 3 for Create A Style. That's the only thing wrong with 2 for me, but then again that's just because it's so outdated more than it ever actually being bad.
