Rita Ora feat. Tinie Tempah "R.I.P"
"R.I.P" was definitely the best single released by Rita in 2012 IMO. I liked this collaboration with Tinie Tempah. This song was made for Rihanna by Drake but I think Rita did a good job with this one.
Matchbox Twenty "She's So Mean"
I'm glad they made a comeback in 2012 with a new album after so many years. I've been a fan of them since early 00's and "She's So Mean" was a solid first single to promote their new work. This is the first of 2 entries by Matchbox 20.
Kelly Clarkson "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)"
Stronger was one of my most played songs at the begining of the year. I thought by that time that it would be easily in my top 10 but I didn't played it too much after that.
The Killers "Runaways"
After Brandon Flowers' solo album in 2010, The Killers made a comeback in 2012 with a new album. "Runaways" was a great first single and recently I heard Miss Atomic Bomb and Here With Me which are also very good.
Rihanna "Where Have You Been"
"Where Have You Been" was co-produced by Calvin Harris and Dr. Luke. It's a good pop-dance track but it doesn't have the same special touch that "We Found Love" had. But I still enjoyed it. There is one more entry left for Rihanna.
Maroon 5 feat. Wiz Khalifa "Payphone"
Payphone's lyrics are kinda dumb but there are some songs that are so addicting that they get in your head. It also helps that Maroon 5 is one of my favorite bands. This is their first of 2 entries.
One Direction "Live While We're Young"
Another catchy tune by One Direction. My favorite line of the song is when they say "Tonight let's get SOME..." : There's one more entry left from them.
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals "Stars"
Thanks to Amanda Brown (a contestant from The Voice) I discovered this wonderful song. Great lyrics, melody and a very unique voice. I want to check more songs from her and her band. There is also a more country version of this song with Kenny Chesney which is very good.
Olly Murs feat. Rizzle Kicks "Heart Skips A Beat"
Of course this is the original version (and the one that matters) of "Heart Skips A Beat". This song was a grower. In fact Olly's second single debuted first on my personal countdown than this song which was the first single of his second album.
Drake feat. Rihanna "Take Care"
After Drake's last album I started to like him a little more. This collaboration with Rihanna is one of my favorites songs by him. I also liked several other songs from "Take Care" (the album).
