The Mrs Carter Show World Tour starring Beyonce conquered Auckland last week with four explosive sold-out shows at Vector Arena on October 16, 17,18 and 19.
The most anticipated tour of 2013, Beyonce left no doubt as to her phenomenal stage presence and vocal prowess. The critics raved:
NZ Herald ….. the moment she strutted on stage through the midst of her all girl band, and parted her sea of 10 dancers,
it became abundantly clear why she is crowned the queen of pop.
Stuff ….It's in this moment, the complete composure with which she holds herself, that
Beyonce separates herself from the amateurs.
Rip It Up ….She is truly the diva of our generation.
Long live Queen Bey.
As well as claiming the record of being the fastest selling tour of 2013 at Vector Arena, The Mrs Carter Show World Tour starring Beyonce, presented by Live Nation, has set a new record for the highest audience attendance at Vector Arena by a solo artist attracting 44,596 ticket buying fans from around New Zealand across the four nights.
The previous venue record is held by Live Nation touring artist, Roger Waters, with 40,348 tickets sold for the ‘The Wall’ tour in 2012.
"It’s a huge thrill to host Beyonce back in New Zealand and to see how warmly she was received by her legion of Kiwi fans. The shows were beyond stunning and our heartfelt appreciation goes out to Queen Bey, her band, dancers and indefatigable crew, and to the fantastic New Zealand audiences that came along all week and kept the city buzzing. Auckland delivered the same level of ticket sales as Melbourne and has surpassed Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth for tour ticket sales." said Michael Coppel, President and CEO of Live Nation Australasia.
Beyonce is just one of eight international superstar artists Live Nation will present at Vector Arena in 2013, with The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath, Rihanna, and Fleetwood Mac all performing multiple sell-out shows this year.
With three, consecutive sell-out shows at Vector Arena this month, Rihanna launched what is set to be the biggest Summer touring period New Zealand has experienced in years, Live Nation is proud to present OneRepublic; Jack Johnson, Fleetwood Mac, Alicia Keys, Joey Bada$$, Big Sean plus Bruno Mars with Miguel, with further exciting tours to be announced over the coming weeks.
