Wait, I'm confused. How could Hollywood hope to boost box office by changing the race of supporting characters people aren't seeing the film for?

It's not always because of marketing decisions to appeal to the broad audience. It's often because the directors, producers, casting directors, studio, etc. just prefer the white (or even black) actors. It's implicit preference and it's been proven.

Personally idgaf whether the american films I watch have black/ white/ asian people starring. I'm just saying that europe and North America have a predominantly white population. Is it REALLY that hard to understand why there's a white wash or do yall get offended just to be offended?

Are you really being serious with that comparison?
Genocide and terrorism caused by ISIS is a huge issue and condemning it is universal and progressive. On the other hand, your whining about American "SJWs" talking about American social issues (like this topic about the erasure of Asians from the media) is so regressive. What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? Or do you just love whining about nothing?
And of course you don't care. You're from the Netherlands so this issue doesn't concern you and you're not even familiar with it. Despite that, you
always just run into these types of thread whining all the time without any education on the topic. Wanting an Indian and Korean character to be played by Asian actors is hardly an unrealistic "fantasy."
Finally, I'm not sure why you're pointing out that Western European countries have a predominately white population. This topic is about Hollywood so it concerns the US only and a significant amount of the population here is non-white (about 40% to be exact). Moreover, this topic is about Asian characters (one Indian and another Korean) who were conveniently changed to white and black, which is a common pattern in American media. What on earth does most of the US being white have to do with the issue? You sound confused and deluded.
