Radio has millions of listeners across the country so why should it count for less? Lots of people listen to radio in their cars/at work/dentist office etc. It's a universal format that will always have power.

Why shouldn't it count more that people ON THEIR OWN decide what should be a hit or not, for example through purchasing a song or by streaming it. If a song is not played by the radio, it rarely becomes a hit.
Radio stations simply decide if it fits their program and almost everybody on here complains about generic music.
Billboard has given radio stations way too much power to determine what will be a hit or not.
Everybody knows that labels and artists push songs on the radio. That is like manipulating.
I am not sure if every country in Europe, but most of them don't include radio for charts. And guess what: we still have iconic hits here. Even the UK has them.
