When you think of it Jesus had undeniable impact, our faves could only dream.
Now I'm not religious - and I don't believe he was the son of God - but his impact is real. He literally slayed the world, had defining career moments, had honorary titles, a large fanbase, everything. And he's still recognised 2000 years later. The influence is real. I applaud him for his continued relevancy and longevity, no one else is doing it to be honest.
To answer the question, I loved it when I was a little kid and it was always fun getting presents and playing in the snow and having a nice meal etc. But as I've grown older I don't really care for it as much. I still participate but it's not exciting or a big deal to me, I could easily go without celebrating Christmas.
because my family is catholic + i'm not gonna be like 'I'm athiest! I don't celebrate Christmas!!! Don't talk about Jesus around me!" Plus, for me it's about family and being together and giving to others.
It's not even about mythological creatures but family, food, and presents. The original holiday isn't even really about Jesus anyway. So why can't people adopt the holiday and assign it new meaning again?
You can disagree with the Christian doctrine all you want but there is a lot of historical significance to Jesus' life on earth.
Check out Flavius Josephus's work on Jesus. The Bible isn't even the only thing that mentions Jesus. The Qur'an and even the Talmud (Yes, Jewish text!) contain references to Jesus.
