People simply do not know what they want out of a relationship during their teen years. They fetishize the perfect "Hollywood relationship" and if they don't receive that type of treatment from a relationship then they label it as a failure. Once expectations are kept in check and both parties are willing to put in the effort a relationship can thrive.
