Well it depends... Michael Jackson needed at least 3 years for every album. Prince didn't need more than 6 months. It's different for everybody. Some, like Beyoncé, are very involved and others don't really do much at all. So they can record a new album everyday, because it's not like they have to do any writing or producing. There's some pop artists that sing the song exactly the same way it sounds on the demo and they probably rely on melodyne to fix their bum notes. It really depends.

What are you talking about? If it wasn't for her, 4 wouldn't be 4, the amazing album it is. And anyway why are we assuming her goal is success, when we have it from her own mouth saying she didn't care if it sold 1 record.

This is true too.
It is just that, EOT screams 1st single. The fact that it was never a single at all, makes me STEAM.
I feel like the same is happening with SOTS. So many non-stans love that song. Release it. Even if it's just as a promotional single.

The management of "4" was a disaster. You can't argue with that. And please, you can't be that naive - everyone wants their work to be appreciated, in that case - "4" to be commercially successful. She may say a lot of things - not everything must be true.

What happened? The single was not a success, so what? It was still what she wanted. So now having strong opinions about your work is being pretentious?

She has been choosing her singles since the beginning of her solo career : one down out of 4 is to be expected. And who is to say EOT would have fair better? It leaked at the same time as RTW, yet radios didn't play it like they did with BD/IBO and when the album was released it wasn't the most bought single off it.
