Now I know how this top ten looks a little bit...older
but trust me, it got me through a rather bland music year in all the countries I've looked for music in , but at least the #1 song was released in 2012 so yeah : D
10. Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
Ah the highest #1 from the US singles chart in 2012 to chart on my year end countdown. I found the song shortly after Bieber did the video with Selena, Ashley Tisdale and BTR. I used it early on to reach the peak seen in the picture. following a few months and going into the summer, I used the song significantly less then my friends since by then it was everywhere, and when a song usually gets overplayed it doesn't appeal to you as much since the song plays when u don't want it to. So with that said it did very well, but is rather high for how I felt about the year by like 10 positions.
9. Cheryl - Call My Name
I can say this was my jam of the summer TBH. alongside Let It Go, Cheryl's huge comeback with her collaboration with Calvin Harris exceeded my expectation of a comeback single. I guess this makes note that Cheryl is onpoint with her single's choices. Well enough for me to eat it right up anyway
8. Will Young - All Time Love
Sometimes songs like this one I use for its overall sound, but its resurgence upon its re-entry onto my chart was lead by the lyrics. The lyrics are very honest that we all want an all time love to find me. Its sweet, deep, and impactful internally, which being a Will Young song plus a deep message really had this song pull toward the top of the year end countdown
7. Alexandra Burke - Tonight
So the lyrics to this song refer more to breaking off with someone and just enjoying life after the fact Tonight. I mainly jammed out thanks to DJ Fresh's sample in the song which really fruited the success of the song. Its an odd steeple of a song no one else will really understand, but this is in the rising to be my top song to use of hers, especially to bop and ready for clubs. I mean Alexandra's diva of vocals alongside a dance bop, is just mindblowing. I glad I finally listened to the enitre album in August to find this and use it
6. Will Young - Losing Myself
A self evaluation song + a resurgence of Will Young's album Echoes = a successful song in the long run. At first I saw the video, liked the sound more and more as I listened to it. After a while though, i finally comprehended the lyrics and as I prepped changing my living environment and world around me, I felt as though I was losing my mind and myself. Even now a days I feel some of this as I type. but nonetheless this song is great
The Top 5 of my countdown
5. Katy Perry - Wide Awake
Well if there was one song that on the Teenage Dream re-release that would come to gain much love from me, it would be this song. I mean from much criticism from an ex, saying this song is repeativite and bland, um,
this is Katy Perry were talking about. I love this song and there is a reason their an ex, I became wide awake. okay, shade aside, I loved the song regardless of anyone's perspective. This song made me wide awake about moving to the city and changing my life as I knew it in the chart reign of this song.
4. Calvin Harris - Feels So Close
Now I want to put this on record, that I listened to this track in Fall of 2011, but didn't receive love in the very competitive time period it was released. but past that time period of music, and the resurgance of the single in the US made this song a sleeper hit on my chart, even when it didn't hit #1, it still did great for this year.
The Top 3
3. Johnny Ruffo - On Top
Johnny Ruffo
He only recieved 3rd place on X Factor Australia, yet earned 3rd place on the year end chart of 2012. Now I know what y'all think, the track is basic like Katy Perry, and very cheeky and sexually implied. That is what makes this track one of my favorite tracks of the year however. Maybe this song was used more so of because he implies to "top" a girl, and for me personally, want to, have, that kind of craving to do...stuff

2. Will Young - Who Am I
Now this isn't just another Will Young Song, it was a song who was at first rushed to success, but stayed very settle, which showed more success in the long run, which is why the song ended up so high on the year end chart. Plus it is definitely one of his best tracks, alongside the 2011 track Jealousy, and the other higher year end charting Will Young Songs this year end countdown. I still slow jam to this on the occasion
AND MY TOP SONG OF 2012 is!!!!!!!
Just Kidding
1. Rebecca Ferguson - Backtrack
Originally from her rerelease of her album "Heaven" to the United States. Instantly it was my jam. It not only shows off her vocals very well on the unbeat track, I brought me confidence it could be enjoyed by most. While the album can be a bit slow, this song got her to do an upbeat track like when she was on X Factor. She is one of my favorite contestants alongside Alexandra Burke, well with divas I might say. Congrats Rebecca!
