Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found
“We’re trying for the end of November or beginning of December.”
That's way too long btw
Quote:
How much will be your music on the album?
“So far, there’s mostly stuff that I’ve just written myself, and I’ve been writing with other writers. You get some new flavors in. Still trying to find the right writers. Some of ‘em don’t really click, some do. I’m really excited. It’s going to be kind of jazz-rock. Some acoustic songs as well. Maybe a couple of songs similar to ‘Home.’ I’m really excited about it. I want to be proud of something that represents me. I’m really critical of lyrics and music.”
I see Jimmy got to him
I just hope he doesn't try to record any clones of Home though.
Industry sources are forecasting that the song could sell around 200,000 downloads by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Aug. 5. To put that in perspective, in the most recent week (ending July 29), only one song sold more than 200,000: Flo Rida's "Whistle," with 237,000.
I hope Phillip can make Black Friday Week for his album to drop. I wouldn't be surprised with December given that he missed so much time early on and would be playing catch up in a way.
And Phillip Phillips' Home, which has been used as theme music for NBC's coverage of the women's gymnastics Olympic competition, jumped 69%. Look for it to climb even higher in the next report: For a good chunk of this week, Home has been the most downloaded track at iTunes.
19 Entertainment looks like they have another winner on their hands with American Idol champ Phillip Phillips, who just released the video to his gold single, “Home,” the song he sung on the show’s finale and is approaching 850k in cumulative sales. The Season 11 topper saw his single go to #1 at iTunes after it was featured as the soundtrack for the 2012 U.S. Olympics Women’s Gymnastics team as they made their London debut, which should mean 200k in sales this week alone.Phillips will perform “Home” on the Today Show on Aug. 28 and on Live with Kelly Sept. 4. The clip, directed by British-born Joseph Toman (Timbaland, Nicole Scherzinger, Bono and The Edge) was shot on the road during the American Idol Live! Tour and can be seen below. Phillips has been boosted by newly named EVP/Worldwide Head of Music Jason Morey, who will oversee a management stable which includes Idol alumni Haley Reinhart, James Durbin, Lee DeWyze, Colton Dixon, Jessica Sanchez, Skylar Laine and Joshua Ledet. Phillips has just begun recording his debut album for 19/Interscope. (8/6p)
The Olympics really helped this song soar, as far as sales go... I don't hear it on the radio though. If airplay is not good it won't soar up the Hot 100.
Over on the Digital Songs chart, "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips zooms from No. 47 to No. 1 with "Home," selling 228,000 (up 472%) -- all thanks to the Olympics. The song was repeatedly used during NBC's broadcast of the women's gymnastics competitions throughout the week. This is "Home's" second-best sales week -- only its debut frame of 278,000 was larger.
Further, it's the first time "Home" has been the top selling song of the week, as it debuted at No. 2 the week after he won "Idol" in May. He was blocked that week from the top -- on the chart dated June 9 -- by Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe." It was in its second week at No. 1, with 301,000.
