So when Beyoncé releases music videos that's called "promotion", yet when Britney releases them that's not promotion because releasing music videos is the "standard"

I think you're right tho when you say that the promo has been off. The management of these songs required more attention than her previous album seeing as how these song weren't exactly radio candy. But that didn't happen, the year was a dud for the album. 2 mil albums sold isn't impressive, then throwing in no hit single makes this album even less impressive. I'll fall back knowing that the album generated good music that the critics backed up. And I commend Bey on taking the risk, but it wasn't a risk that payed off.

Many successful albums don't have hit singles : Sade's, Maxwell's, Michael buble's, Justin Bieber's recent album. "4" sold decently and is far from a flop but the era itself is a flop because we have nothing to fall back on, since she can't tour and the singles didn't do wonders on the chart.

IDC if it is related to 4 or not, she got 2 nominations. The end.

Oh no mam, you were in the singles thread earlier acting like '4' was this miserable disappointment and Femme Fatale sold 40 million, that is why. You needed to be put in check, and now you have.

True. But you can't really compare the commercial, heavy-promoted album IASF to 4. But the reason the album has no hit single so far is because like you said:

And Beyoncé didn't do that because she had to many things to do + she was already pregnant at that time.
And just because an album doesn't have a hit single doesn't mean it's a big flop. I mean there are tons of albums that sold a lot of copies yet don't have a single hit.

No one ever said that. But having success on radio and tweeting is not promo. The list the OP made makes it look like Britney promoted her ass off, when all she did was performing 2-3 songs on 2 shows on the day of her album release and then walking down the catwalk on BBMA singing her song for 20 secs.

Promo is something extra you do to push your product.
e.g. Interviews, specials, performances, etc.
Twitter is not a promo. Her fans were the one trending it, it's not promo.
Everyone does music videos, we can eliminate this as promo.
Same with radio.
And touring is something you do to collect cash, you don't technically promote your album with it.
|
Releasing singles altogether is promotion for the album -- It's meant to give awareness, really, of the song, and of the album.
I would call releasing a song as a single or making a video promotion.
And radio play... same ****.

what??? do you know how to read?? when have I said that FF sold that? Demiboyx said this
Beyonce did little or no promo was pregnant and on top of that, had a risky album that was very personal; most of the singles didn't appeal to the public, so these numbers have even exceeded my expectations so sit.
I just responded to that saying that she did promotion. A lot. that chart was for SINGLES SALES AND AIRPLAY worldwide. she did promotion for her singles too, and they didnt do well. When did I mention Femme Fatale? You fail

Really? Oh please, radio support is like the biggest promo you can get. If your songs don't get played on the radio, people will not know your album because they don't hear songs off it.

The OP was making a point about 4 and its underperformance and that 4 only got 1 grammy nom. It doesn't matter if she got 1 more or 20 more other nominations unrelated to 4. 4 only got 1. *end.

I admit that, but as I already mentioned, Britney herself is not involved in that. The OP was talking about promo that Britney done. And since she is not working as a DJ on radio, this is not a promo she's done.

Actually Britney stans are the only ones who say that, and they constantly say that. If a world tour isn't promotion then all of Beyoncé's videos aren't either.
Britney had a #1
Several Top 10 singles
A world tour
Several appearances on high profile shows
Etc
The no promo excuse can stop because Rihanna has hardly done anything and TTT is at 1.3 mil.

You stans and your "no promo" card - Beyonce did plenty of promo, she performed RTW everywhere when it was released, and don't give me this risky ********, she released Single Ladies 2.0 and Irreplaceable 2.0 as her first 2 singles, her 3rd single was an uptempo single too, so sick of you B stans trying to act like she went out there with her single choices, when she played it as safe as she could.
Didn't appeal to the public? Since when did releasing bad songs mean they get an excuse for flopping? And her pregnancy helped the album more than it hindered it. She flopped in the single department big time, the excuses need to stop.

Radio is one of the biggest forms of promo there is. A single plays on heavy rotation on the radio, a listener buys it, sees the album the single originated from, checks it out and buys the album too (if they like it). That's how I do it and I'm sure that's how ti works. Twitter is great promo! Femme Fatale was trending for how long again? And it was a TT WW. I'm sure everyone saw that TT and knew Brit had an album coming out/out.
