So, they've calculated the amount of points accumulated from 2009-2011 on the Billboard charts and then ranked them?
And that alone determines the hierarchy of the pop industry? Right ok
Not to contest that Gaga isn't the leader - as I think it's pretty clear she's the most popular in recent times.
However...why did they start at 2009?
why aren't they using worldwide sales? to be the queen of pop you can't be local.
why did they not include features? they're using billboard data - and they count them for the female artist.
their formula of adding up radio points...is a bit twisted and not accurate.
it's all a little messy.
I think a more accurate representation of who's really the queen of pop of the world of the last few years goes
1) Lady Gaga
2) Rihanna
3) P!nk
4) Beyonce
5) Taylor Swift
Rolling stones doesnt lie. But they can make mistakes.
I forgive them
Did you even read the article. This is based between 2009-2011, in which Gaga was the biggest popstar. Had it been done over a longer period of time, we all know Madonna would have been on top, and some of the other girls wouldn't have even made the list.

Congrats to Gaga though, obviously
It's also based on awards, touring, social media, youtube, along with the typical Hot 100, Airplay, Album sales, etc..
It's not ONLY on charts. It determines who is the most well-rounded artist.
