Alex Band "Tonight'"
I'm sure all of you guys know this singer. Everybody and their mom jammed "Wherever You Will Go" back in the day. When I read this guy was trying another solo project this year I was like "I need to listen", the song was worth the effort but he'll need way more than that to stand out, besides the vampire cliche is so over used. Wrong move Alex!
2NE1 "Can't Nobody'"
Ok so 2010 was the year when I started exploring the sides of the huge world of J/K pop, thanks to my fellow countdown makers Rominho, Arris and Rapha Fenty. These girls are one of my discoveries this year and this song is almost impossible to avoid. Enjoy it if you don't know it.
Lady Antebellum "Our Kind Of Love'"
First out of five singles of this country band to appear in this cd. This song is a little more country than the rest of their singles from this era. It's funny and playful but somehow it burned so fast, specially cause it was crushed between two of my favorite singles by them which I'll be talking about later on.
Lee Dewyze "Sweet Serendipity'"
Poor Lee. And I really mean it, the guy is very talented and charismatic however his career ended before it could even begin, I can't say it's not his fault cause his album is full of generic forgetable songs but I still think he deserved a little more spotlight time. Anyway I'll leave you with probably the only song you'll get to know by him which I don't think is that bad.
Faber Drive "The Payoff'"
This canadian band is exactly the touch I needed for this year. They might not be the greatest band out there but their sound is somehow refreshing. I'll get into details about them while describing their other singles. The Payoff is their most recent video and I love it cause it's really funny , the lyrics describe the thankful thoughts of them finally hitting mainstream.
Angel Taylor "Like You Do'"
Probably none of you have heard about this girl (Except probably my good friend Drogo), this song is very cute and honest, it's kinda sad cause it's way better than half of the crappy mainstream **** of these days... but what can be done? I'll be looking for more from her in the future!
Sick Puppies "Maybe'"
Another band I just discovered this year. This song had me singing the chorus for like 3 days, however it burned a little fast, it sounds like something Daughtry would make but with a different touch that I like. And btw, I had never seen a girl playing the bass before
Adele "Rolling In The Deep'"
Finally the former british favorite is back. This song gives me shivers, it's amazing. Her vocals fit perfectly and the lyrics are very deep and personal. It recently debuted on my personal countdown but it has a lot of potential for next year and I can't wait to hear the rest from her album. Way to go Adele!
Taylor Swift "Fifteen'"
And The Queen makes her first and sure not last appearance. It can be true this is one of her cheesiest and most forgetable songs, however I liked the music video and how she turns the words from the lyrics into exact images of what's she's trying to tell. Let's see if someday we can get a song called "Twenty-One" lol.
Ellie Goulding "Your Song'"
From UK's new sensation here comes a well honored cover of Sir Elton John's classic "Your Song". Everybody knows I loved Ellie this year, how can you not? Her voice is so sweet and unique. The song might not be the best cover ever but I can totally feel it, the music video depicts my life long dream of spending the winter in the UK <33
