Projecting that much success without so much as a single is insulting to fans.
How exactly? All things released have a projection point. Toys, movies, games, etc. No one's offended by what a business expects of a product, we are consumers lmao. Unless of course it sucks.
Lol @ everyone on this thread barking as if they know everything about the music business, as if the industry people who are the ones who are actually investing in him would even think of just throwing away that much money if they thought Harry wasn't big enough for this. Y'all are too stuck in your pop girl worlds that you don't even know how huge and powerful the 1D/Harry fanbase is/was. Y'all are underestimating him waaaaay too much. If Harry makes marketable music and doesn't pull a Zayn when it comes to promoting, I have no doubts Harry will be big as a solo.
This tea.
I saw 1D play back to back sold out stadium shows in 2014, and then they almost sold out the same stadium venue again less than a year later without Zayn.
For comparison's sake, 2015's golden boy Bieber played one show in an arena when he toured here this year.
Yeah...um... Whatever label invested that kind of money in him will be bankrupt by 2018
EDIT : Oh, so it's Apple giving the money, not the label. Fine then, I guess. It still sounds like a terrible investment, cause I personally see no potential in him, but if the deal includes Apple product placement in all his videos, as well as some touring related benefits for Apple, they might get some of it back
The world's biggest boy band is also its biggest band of any sort, at least when it comes to earnings over the past year. With 74 dates during our scoring period--and seven-figure grosses at every stop--One Direction's payday is more than twice as high as that of the Rolling Stones.
One Direction have already grossed more than the Spice Girls who totalled $500-800m in 96-98.
Earning $75m per year, 1D matched that amount from 2013-2015 alone with $20m and $130m respectively.
atrl has its head so far up these pop girl's arses than you literally missed the phenomenon touring stadiums every year
I think Harry's great - and I'm excited for his new music - but I don't see his album selling 5 million+ WW. One Direction haven't even managed that since 2012 .
Good luck to him though, that's a fantastic deal .
xox
You could say the same with their singles though, none of them ever hit number one. And when Zayn went solo people said the same thing... but he did.
