I know that BigBang couldn't speak one word in Japanese, when they debuted there. Then Daesung & Seungri mastered it quick, then Taeyang, and now they can all speak Japanese.
Jinwoo or Minwoo (The Dara of Winner) couldn't speak one word of Japanese too.
2015's been pretty good for me so far, tbh.
Jonghyun, miss A, Gain, EXO, Davichi, EXID, Nine Muses, Rainbow, Red Velvet, and 4minute all had great comebacks. Big Bang is happening, and SHINee's coming any day now along with BoA. Things are pretty decent.

To be fair, it generally works when there's at least one person who can carry the language still, Japanese debuts are an issue when no one can speak the language a la f(x).
I'm pretty sure someone posted about Yeri being raised in the US though? I've never seen any reports confirming or denying the rumours, and I've never seen her in a situation where she'd need to speak English, so who knows?
Red Velvet went back on ASC with Yeri, and she looks like she doesn't speak much English. Seulgi seems better than her. But that episode was kinda weird, even Wendy didn't speak much English. The hosts were talking to her and she just replied back in Korean.
Plus like in SNSD or f(x), SM would have both English speakers be the spokespeople, but here it's only Wendy.
At least they're getting better at saying their group name though
Jonghyun and Red Velvet were great. I also loved GaIn and 4minutes comebacks. A little underwhelmed by EXO and wasn't a fan of Big Bang.
It's just when you compare the fact at this point in the year last year we already had TVXQ, Girls' Generation, 2NE1, Rain, AOA, GOT7, C-CLOWN, Toheart, Orange Caramel, A Pink, AKMU and Hyosung... I prefer those releases.

It doesn't sound like she has an awkward accent and her pronunciation sounded really clear and precise. Maybe she does speak English, but only lived/studied in the US for a small period of time so doesn't have much confidence speaking it? Which would explain her auditing in the US. Who knows until she says anything.

She's probably at Sooyoung's level of English tbh. Her pronunciation isn't that good from what I've heard there, but maybe she has a wider vocabulary from living in the US (if she really did).

Yeah, it's the same with Key. He's not fluent at speaking English, but after living and studying in the US, he's more than capable at carrying himself with English, and his accent is fine.
