No one else knew what he was talking about (they thought he maybe said fan instead of stan, but I knew that wasn't the case). He actually explained to them the origin of the word because of the Eminem song... and people still didn't get it... lol. I think they thought it meant stalker or something, which it doesn't.

I've heard a couple of people use "throwing shade" in real life convos. It's sooooo weird hearing that stuff outside this context.
