No, Cara didn't get where she is because of her social media following or because of some rubbish reality tv show. Cara didn't have built in fame before entering the industry, the way Gigi and Kendall did, because most people don't even know about Cara's family connections. Cara also has a tall, thin sister (Poppy) who modeled but never came close to having Cara's success. So, there's clearly something about Cara.
Rich girls like Cara, Carla Bruni, Jodie Kidd, Stella Tennant etc., modeling is nothing new. But none of those women I mentioned had their wigs snatched by designers, other models and fashion people, let alone, the GP, because it was/is obvious that they have striking looks and would be booking jobs regardless. It's really apparent why these two girls (Kendall, Gigi), who are widely considered to be mediocre, have gotten as far as they have, Kendall especially. Gigi photographs better than Kendall, but she aint no Karlie Kloss.
