Prism, she had two huge singles, good album sales, a massive tour, huge earnings, the superbowl, steaming.... heck in prospective she kind of half assed it with her poor single choices but she still did incredibly well. Imagine if Katy would have milked it like she did TD.
Gaga was cute with her discounts and wanna be gay anthems but it was all just a gimmick with big hype that in the end didn't live up and she got backlash for trying to follow up with it. Now she's trying to get away from all that and do a 180 with her image, it was just so contrived.

It's obvious which one was bigger.

Yeah, it's def PRISM!
Katy's two "top 10 hits" outselling all of BTW's singles is kind of a kii, though. Just wanted to point that out.
Prism was a genuine success that put Katy in a higher level and made her perform at the SB while BTW's success was built on hype and then died quickly + hurt Gaga's career.

Wow, you would think with two hits as big as "Roar" and "Dark Horse" that Katy wouldn't be getting outsold by a margin of 3m. Katy's apparently so much bigger in America too, yet Gaga outsold her even when you take away the $0.99 sales

Yeah BTW sold like 1,000,000 in the UK if that's an underperformance then idk what PRISM's 350k sales are
