Why are monsters trying to pretend we don't see this thread with every era? Every era she says something negative or side-eye-worthy about her previous album before it. Let's not pretend like I'm making it up, because we see this type of thread literally every era. I don't have "the proof" because I don't bookmark threads. But you know, kids.

She doesn't do that about her other albums. Like, literally ever. She does repetitive "the next one is my favorite " tweets but I have never seen her be critical of TFM, and I don't think I've seen it about BTW either. Without proof, I'm afraid we can't assume anything but that you're making it up.

There's nothing wrong with creating an album and moving on from it. The only critic you should listen to is yourself.

Anyway, I can't wait for #LG5. But let's play it conservatively this time and maybe not spend $25 million
on the campaign. The GP is starting to like you again and we don't need any more bad publicity.

Anyway, she always acts like her previous album was awful (she's onto something) and then she releases something that's even more awful. I'm noticing a trend.

She always feels the need to blame someone or something - some outside factor - when things go wrong. That's why things keep going wrong, because she can't accept that the problem comes from her, and so she can't fix it

I think she kicked her cocaine habit sometime during the BTW era - actually, it probably contributed to TFM and how she worked with that music more than anything else. She called it "the devil" in 2011 shortly after the BTW album's release, and talked more about her struggles with it in early 2012.

Oh okay. I admire her for kicking that habit.

I love seeing her say this She's so self aware these days and it's amazing, and so comforting as a fan.
I like ARTPOP, but it was pretty all over the place with no true direction. The whole "ARTPOP" concept was interesting and had potential, but it had literally nothing to do with the music. And you could tell that there was a lot of hidden aggression that she didn't fully tap into because she was trying to make a fun album...she hinted at it, with songs like DWUW, Swine, Dope, etc, but didn't fully dive into that. It was a "fun, upbeat" album, but none of the songs were really that happy or joyful lyrically.
That, combined with the Billboard interview where she mentioned how she was writing to tracks instead of on the piano, didn't feel inspired like she used to, etc. I'm really looking forward to hearing LG5 because I think it's going to be amazing, and really mark the next chapter of her as a person.

I agree with this quite a lot. I don't think it's always all her, but a significant part of her struggles definitely have to do with how she views things and her stubbornness. I think she's beginning to learn, if her last couple interviews are any indication - she's starting to get it.

I'm still not seeing receipts of her "thrashing her previous work" or "always pointing the blame", etc.

Agreed. The best part was when she acted like it was her label's fault for ARTPOP's failure, because they didn't let her do what she wanted or whatever. Even if that's true (she's a pathological liar), it's still her fault for writing ****** music that doesn't sell.

That is true
She is not in the center of GP's minds like her die hard fans want to pretend but she is in a MUCH better position now than shortly after ARTPOP.
Now, everytime she is performing people EXPECT a positive reaction to her performance and she DELIVERS.
That's a huge improvement from a few years agp when she had become a parody of herself, fashion, gimmicks, trying hard.
The problem is WHERE to go with her music, she should definitely not go back to edm-ish pop music, but she is not a ballad singer,I don't think she has the voice to make a ballad a hit(it's not the she isn't talented but her voice isn't for that)
So I'm really interested if the plan for her makeover, which has worked pretty well thus far, actually has placed the music as the top of the cherry.

Some of the posts in here....I'm sorry, but did she ever trash talk TF, TFM or BTW? The only things she has said about BTW in retrospect is that she's sad that the era turned into so much drama with the Madonna comparisons and stuff, and people weren't paying attention to the important message she was trying to promote.

Not to jump between sides or anything, but Nicole had a point with the "blaming" post. That's definitely how it came off when she pinned all of the ARTPOP era on her management and their separation and then made those very anti-industry anti-pop statements at SXSW. In truth, at least part of why that era went so badly was her separating herself from most of her old team and poorly executing an already mildly disjointed vision for the actual era.

Yeah I agree, is this what she exactly does, saying that the new record is better than previous nothing else.
I don't know what kind of music she is doing this time but I am excited to see, you know always her music has an undertone of sadness so she can make a pop song about her pain.
I want her to deliver another TEOG

To an extent, ARTPOP was definitely a failure on behalf of Interscope AND Gaga herself directly. They both wanted two entirely different things and didn't try to see each other eye to eye. But we're past that now. Your low key shady jabs and unwillingness to see that on the other hand is unfortunate though.
And of course, the same offenders trying to look for the slightest bit of shade/mess to distract from her meaning.
