If it's one thing I've seen Roc Nation won't do is handholding. All of its successful artist (J. Cole for example) have an independent drive and talent that lets them do their work on their own terms. I think even Rihanna signed to them looking for this kind of freedom (hence why she hasn't been forced to release an album or single and is going at her own pace), but it can be too much indirection for some people who need more guidance.

Um completely different situations.
Rita never had anyone in her corner from RN like Rih does Jay Brown. Not TyTy, not Emory, not Oscar.. Nobody cared for her enough to push her career in the US
Jay Brown has worked alongside Rihanna since Def Jam so Rihanna is going to be fine with or without RocNation as a label. She's a well established act for 10 years now. Even if **** hits the fan with this album she owns her masters recording, has her own label, & can still get major endorsements/gigs…. she's good.
