Almost reaching the end as I start the top ten today. Thanks for the support guys.
Woo,
Red had me lowkey stanning but
1989 ultimately left me edgeless! T-Swizzle really outshines the girls as a popstar, and although I do enjoy country, never really particularly cared
that much for her country-pop. The second I began this album and Taylor did her thing on "Welcome to New York" (besides common consensus this is the album's weakest track), I was hooked. The album went onto "Blank Space", my immediate favorite, which I'm glad is gaining the amount of success it has. My album highlights would be the 80's inspired bonus track "New Romantics", Ryan Tedder produced "I Know Places", and Imogen Heap-written "Clean". My disdain for a certain someone skews me to enjoy "Bad Blood", as well. I know Taylor has a lot of potential to become one of the biggest popstars due to her massive success, without abstaining from the quality of her music and critical acclaim. AMAZING album by a wonderfully talented woman.
With a career that nearly spans for the entirety of my life, Spoon has proven to have remarkable staying power with a consistent run of eight quality albums.
They Want My Soul is no exception and really caught my attention from the second "Rent I Pay" was released. The song provides as a wonderful lead single as well as an album opener, embodying the song's wonderful sound. The guitar riffs evoke nothing but happiness, and the rough, crisp vocals from the band's lead glosses over it with their remarkable lyrics. It doesn't skew too far from their original sound, yet remains so amazingly fresh and a wonderful adaptation to the current music scene. The length makes it incredibly enjoyable - it's short, but sweet, and leaves the listener yearning for more. The album flows seamlessly, and was constructed and structured to maximize the greatness of a full run-through each tracks. I've certainly paid more attention to this album than their others, so I may be biased, but this is my second favorite album from them.
