But anyway, great set! "Papaoutai" is wonderful, Sia/Weeknd/Diplo is a match made in heaven, Lana is a plus and of course the almighty "Toy".

semaJ - they don't even make sense anymore.
dlk die.
That's because I'm saving the better ones for later. Be thankful I'm not mentioning you in every damn entry; imagine how much worse the names would get.

Yes Callum! It's so refreshing to see someone else appreciate it, since everyone just thinks it's 'meh'. There's a subtle elegance to it that is just blissful.

Lana got me that Gatsby fever in that song! The instrumental on that is spine chilling!
Noo, that's kind of my point. To me it sounds like he's vocally producing a ballad, in the way he sings throughout. But then it's crossed with a midtempo (which the song actually is) and it's great. Stromae serving those orchestral notes.
Oh ****, it just gets harder. Three brilliant tracks were omitted this round, but I guess survival of the fittest and all.

Marina & the Diamonds & Charli XCX
Just Desserts
Considering this I only got into Marina and Charli this year, this track
did really well, especially for a fan release. Charli and Marina have
really similar styles at times and they compliment each other so well
on this song that I can't even describe it. It's such a good song, and I'm glad it was released so they could perform together live!

EXO
으르렁
James is going to crucify me for having EXO out of my Best of so soon,
but it had to be out before the next song!
Growl is a fantastic song, like it's soooo good. The chorus is one of my
favourite K-Pop choruses, given how infectious it is and how well the
guys echo it. In all honesty, Wolf is the superior song but I'd choose to
listen to the light-hearted Growl over it any day. This song accounts for over half of my EXO/EXO-K plays to date lol.

Taeyang
Ringa Linga
Let me start with why this ranks above Growl. Both have really strong
choruses, but Growl only has its chorus in my eyes, while Ringa Linga's
pre-chorus is just everything. At a ratio of 2:1, I have to prefer Taeyang's
effort ever so slighty. Ringa Linga is a new one for me though; I checked
it out a month or so ago and really didn't like it (story of my life
year in music) but I listened again a couple of weeks again and found I
really liked it. As I said before, the pre-chorus is ****ing amazing and Taeyang's vocals are so great in there, and the chorus is really great too.

Ellie Goulding
Goodness Gracious
Oh Ellie. I'm not even going to focus on the negative here.
Goodness Gracious is my favourite song from Halcyon Days, mostly due
to the experimentation with the production. She mixed things up and
got creative, and it works so so well! In true Halcyon fashion she used
and distorted her voice for the instrumental throughout and I doubt it
could be better. A well written song, it all kind of falls into place with Goodness Gracious while managing to still come off as effortless.

The Weeknd
Belong to the World
Now THIS one I truly am gutted about cutting out already. It follows a
similar experimentation as Goodness Gracious, but it takes it to the
next level. I toyed around with this or Professional being my favourite
from the album but this won me over too much. The strings are a huge
part of that, since they add such a depth to the already huge chorus.
Given Abel's previous work I wasn't sure he was capable of something
so bold and attention-grabbing as this, so I really am impressed.
I kind of hate you for eliminating EXO so early but I mean at least it made the Top 30. T-Dragon's song was pretty nice too (not as good as the almighty "Growl" but whatever). I'm just ignoring the actual numbers because these songs are all worthy of the Top 20 but I'm really impressed with this update - not one bad song!
