I just said it's not a coincidence he chose those words and I'm 100% sure about that.

Ok so it was a reference to Gaga, because you know, the world revolves around Gaga and she made the movement popular, probably that's how the Chairman of Capitol knows it, it has nothing to do with Andy Warhol, the Museum of Modern Art in NY, Robert Rauschenberg, Keith Haring, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselmann, No. It's all about Gaga

lol, I have been waiting for this. Im not a native speaker like you. But we can talk in my native language, Czech or in Russian, too - to make it more balanced, would you like ? The chairman of Capitol probably knows a lot more about art then you. And in the article there are not even capital letters so probably he meant it more generally than the actual art movement "Pop Art". If you read his talking properly you see he uses it to express how Katy can embrace music (art) with pop culture and nowaday's generation. In this view she is even more pop art than Gaga herself.
(And "to conversate" is a word too. Maybe a little bit unusual form, but its a word. find it in you dictionary, native speaker.)

The hate and dragging for being a native speaker! I don't want to fight sis.
I don't understand how ANYONE right now is more pop art than Gaga. She is literally working with actual artists in the creation process of her music and work...I just don't get it.
Gaga, forever getting shaded and overshadowed.

Katy will never come close to Madonna in any category.
She'd need a 'live to tell' as the prism lead single to show a mature side and change the pop song format like Madonna did
But no
She released a bland generic unoriginal song instead

For ATRLers, esp the teensy ones, Gaga is literally the first ever human being they heard use the word art (they couldn't have gotten it from school since pre-college general art lessons have all been wiped out of existence

What ATRLers don't seem to know is that "pop art" is a specific genre, not just a combination of words (check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_art ) infusing colors, commercials, cartoons etc - that's all pop art. Exactly what Katy has been doing all the time.
Just for reference: what Gaga is doing is drawing from a previously established, more arty art genre, called "surrealism".

Lol if you dont wanna be dragged than dont drag me for my 2nd foreign language...
And yet again, Gaga is not in the center of the Solar System. Not everything has to be about her. I havent been speaking about her in this thread until you reacted to me.
Do you even know what Pop Art was about ? In its core it was about embracing fine art with pop culture. Trying to integrate mass culture (adverts, popular celebrities ...) into it. It used irony, minimalism, bright colours which immidiately affect your eyes (like adverts do). Gaga´s music may be more artsy for trying different sounds, lyric themes and song construction, but it doesnt mean she is more "pop art".

Its funny because I was actually thinking the same thing. If your music is really pop art you don't have to announce it a thousand times or name your album pop art. If it really is pop art the music will speak for itself. Sorry but what gaga is doing is not pop art. Like what exactly makes it pop art, because her head is superimposed on a goose? Or because she used the word kuntz? Puh-lease.

LOL YOU ARE SO DAMN SHADY! So now I don't even know what pop art is? I read the philosophy of Andy Warhol, I thought that was enough to keep me qualified in the art department
I NEVER said the world revolves around Gaga. YOU said that Katy may be more pop art than Gaga and in my humble opinion, that's just not true! I mean how! Lawd help me break through to the non-Gaga stans because I just don't understand. Gaga works with Jeff Koons and Marina Abramovic, and she's still not pop art enough for y'all.
I give up.
