It was very...average for me.

The music on the actual album was okay. If she had synthesized the best 9 or 10 tracks it would have been a very solid follow-up to The Fame Monster. She didn't do that, unfortunately.

The videos, again, were hit-and-miss. I loved the Judas and You and I videos, but he BTW, TEOG and MTN videos were a mess.

The fashion was absolutely horrible.

The live performances were mostly good, but there were some noticable slipups (the EMAs and SNL come to mind specifically).

The TV circuit was good: she had some really good promotional spots. The Very GaGa Thanksgiving Special was flawless.

There's a difference between album and era. Born This Way is a great album, and will probably be the underrated album in her discography that people grow to love 10 years from now.

As for an era, it was crappy. Starting with the lead single, I knew this era would be off track. A 70s disco track as the lead single was risky, but she could have done better. I don't mean something that appealed to the charts more, I just mean something of better quality. Judas, while a great song, was an obvious gimmick. Not to mention, it is a direct rip off of Bad Romance. Finally when things get good with The Edge of Glory, she releases a ****** boring video. Okay, Gaga just might redeem herself with her next single, right? No, she releases a country/rock ballad with a random ass mess video. Marry the Night was released five singles too late and the video didn't get a proper edit.

Born This Way is a well written mostly experimental pop album and I love that Gaga released the album. I just wish the era had been thought out better with proper singles and music videos. Also, no pregnant bellies and teal body hairs

It was alright. Didn't blow me away, but I sure as hell didn't hate it and I managed to make it through the entire era without her losing me as a fan.

She did **** up a few times along the way (The OVER HYPE, releasing Judas during easter week, TEOG rush release, TEOG video, not choosing the right songs to be singles ,etc) but she empowered so many persons along the way, she changed so many lives with this album that all of those mistakes don't seem to be important.

She probably saved more lives than we'll ever know and that, is better than winning any grammy.

I absolutely loved her throughout The Fame and TFM but as soon as Born This Way hit she completely lost me and now I can't stand her, haha. I can honestly say I've never experienced such a flip in opinion towards an artist as I did towards Lady Gaga.
