And to get on that channel you need to be targeted to a younger audience with a clean image. I used to listen to Radio Disney as a child, and from what I remember it was all teen artists (late 90s to mid 2000s). I remember once Britney and Christina changed they were blacklisted from the station.

America IS changing, you're right. If there is any proof to that, it's Justin Bieber's transition thus far.

They play Katy Perry, Maroon 5 & Far East Movement.
Cher Lloyd has also just begun getting heavy rotation.

Whoa! I feel so old now. Back in my day you that artist had to resing the song if it were deemed inappropriate. Parent's got pissed when they played "Come On Over" by Christina because of the rap part, rap music was not played at all. I guess it has changed a lot now.

You think they can. They are marketed to a youth audience, the only way to branch out is to lose them and change who they are. In others words they are stuck, its a catch-22 with them. They can change and lose fans, or stay the same and lose fans.
|
But it's not changing if that's already who they are in the first place. Their fanbase knows what they really are like. You can watch any interview at random and see how they act. Hopefully their management in the US will get it together.

You should be able to do at least 1 out of the 3 exceptional well.

But wait. This thread is about boy bands/groups, is it not? And they posted boy bands/groups, did they not? So why would people not care about boy bands/groups in a thread about boy bands/groups?

True tea. We're just bored in there because 2NE1's Korean comeback got pushed back to July. Let the girls have their little fun.

@ the pure stupidity in this comment.
The thread is about boy bands who can dance, and we posted boy bands who can dance. Is it because they're Korean that no one cares?
I swear y'all have been bathing in Windex or something, the pure transparency.

Boy Bands of the past (Nsync, BSB, NKOTB, etc) could actually dance and had better choreography. I noticed these guys The Wanted and One Direction lack any dancing ability. It would be nice to see at least one boy band with strong dancing ability.
|
Because SHINee, Big Bang, Super Junior, etc. are not the boy bands of the past, present, or future. But if you have nothing else to do, go ahead.

Do they HAVE to dance?
Sometimes just having presence and having energy and fun is good enough. Both of those boy bands can do it.
And they sound very good live.

Well 1D wasn't put together by a record label like boybands of the past. I'd rather have better vocals than dancing.

The Mariah Carey reference.
Anyway, One Direction is amazing. They sing well for a pop group, all have distinct voices, and have great technique harmonizing. Niall, the best member of One Direction also plays guitar and has writing credits for melody. That >> doing some corny ass dance in front of a green screen.

Oh girl shut up, those three groups are all ruling the Asian pop scene and have been for the past 4-7 years, thus they are the past, present, AND future. Just because you don't follow Asian pop and would rather discuss One Direction and The Wanted in all their glory doesn't mean you have to act a fool.

Why can't people understand that.

1. They all don't play instruments.
2. They didn't have strong imput on their debut album. The Beatles wrote every song on the album.
3. Did not have gigantic fanfare when they came to the US.
4. They didn't audition for some talent show to get a contract.
5. Worked their way up the old fashioned way.
6. Had a much larger fan base.
Any other reasons? I'm just judging each other on their first albums. Don't even get me started after the year 1965. The Beatles will slay them in musical ability, comparing them is like saying Prince and Beiber are similar.

And on topic. The reason those horrible white bands you mentioned can't dance is because they are garbage. One was made by the XFactor while the other....well I don't even know much about them. I just know they lack stage presence.
