It doesn't matter what ATRL memebers think about Halsey or these other artists that have gotten this kind of treatment by the label, because they have already decided for all of us that she will happen and they will keep investing in her until she either becomes a cash cow (which she can not be at this point) or until they move on to the next, more promising one.

I don't know why people are so taken aback and perplexed by Halsey's success without looking into her origin story. She started off as a Harry Styles stan on Tumblr
making songs fantasizing about him and his fans started to follow her. She capitalized off of that by releasing Lana-esque pop tracks with "relatable" lyrics and all those aesthetics and whatnot that teens in the social media age respond well to. She further secured her Tumblr support by speaking out about social justice issues and her experience as a mixed race bisexual girl. A lot of it was luck but there was no "massive push".
