I'm 100% against outing guys and posting their stats/names etc but also I set my phone's location to the Olympic Village out of curiosity a few hours ago then opened Grindr and whew... All the hot gay athletes there.. It truly is a gay man's wet dream an unlimited supply of hot guys
While I agree that this is disgusting, I think its funny that a lot of atrlers are getting mad over this when they do the same to male celebs.
No one here has the power to do what this journalist just did. Not only did he extract personal details about them he used his position of power in the news world to compromise their safety. That's leagues different from thirsty ATRL users lusting after Shawn Mendes.

Not exactly the same situation but I agree. I wanted to mention this but I felt like it was out of place a bit. Many gay people here do something similar all the time Have some decency and respect people's privacy for once

I do agree that this is really gross and outing people isn't right but if you're closeted/are scared for you safety (in relation to your sexuality) in the first place then why even use Grindr...

Because to some athletes the Olympic Games is one of the few occasions that provides them with a safe space to be themselves and to legally be gay. Who wouldn't jump at that opportunity?

So what, they are just using the Olympics as a place to hook-up with randoms and then go back to their country where they have to stay closeted ?

This. He''s wrong for doing an article about it for a major publication, but if you're on Grindr you've already outed yourself.
This dude potentially ruined multiple people's lives for a nonsense, clickbaity news article.
What will happen to some of those men when they return to their homophobic home countries? This man needs to get fired ASAP, I hope he faces some serious repercussions for this.
