Previously on Survivor: ATRL Edition (Season 5), the 9 remaining castaways returned to camp having survived the third round of the Merge. Round 14 had the castaways recreating flop eras into successful ones. However, Rider quit the competition before the round was over becoming the fifth member of the jury in the process. In the end, Element came out with the win for fourth individual immunity of the season leaving the other seven castaways in danger. At Tribal Council, dwuw & Ares were equal targets resulting in the first tie of the Merge so far. The theme for
Round 15 is...
Term Trinities
That theme probably makes no sense but I needed a somewhat catchy title and that was the best my twink brain could think of at the moment. This round, you will all be forming trinities from a certain year of music this decade. I've been keeping up with the game "The Holy Trinity" and it inspired me for this round.
This round, you will all be forming a specific trinity from my directions that represent a certain year in music this decade. There will be three songs chosen hence the word "trinity". One of those tracks will be the "Trendsetter Hit" of your respective year, the other will be the "Timeless Hit", and the last track will be the "Oddball Hit" of the year given. I will explain all of this below in the Requirements section.
When selecting your tracks for this round, remember you are focusing on major markets most specifically the US (but not only limited to) so don't make a trinity of 2011 in Zimbabwean music.
The Requirements:
1. Title With Year Included - .5 Points
"The 2014 Trinity" or whatever other cute title you want to come up with.
2. Your Name - .5 Points
"By: ____"
3. Graphic(s) - 1 Point
Apply at
least one graphic to your entry to make it somewhat visually appealing whether it's a pic of a triangle, single covers, etc.
4. The Trendsetter Hit + Explanation - 2 Points
This will be the first track of your trinity. Each year in music has that one hit that others bandwagon onto whether it's a #1 smash hit or a decent hit that others make into a bigger trend. It all depends on the year given for what you consider the real trendsetter, The trendsetter is going to be the track that sonically ends up impacting the year in music whether it's a specific genre or formula that others latch onto. The trendsetter clearly has to come fairly early in the year as it would not have time to trendset if not. There is also the possibility the track is released in the year prior but becomes a big factor in music your given year.
Once you choose a track for this part of your trinity, you will explain it to the best of your ability. How is it a trendsetter? Examples of ways it impacted your desired year in music?
5. The Timeless Hit + Explanation - 2 Points
All of these years are fairly new. But out of the hits that took place in whatever year you are assigned, which one do you think will be remembered for years to come? What song could become a future oldies classic for the generations to come? There is a possibility that your trendsetter could be your ideal pick for this aspect of the trinity too but you'll just have to settle for second best if so.
Once you choose a track for this part, you will again explain why you think your chosen track will be the timeless hit of your assigned year.
6. The Oddball Hit + Explanation - 2 Points
While most years of music stick to a certain theme when it comes to smashes, there's always that one oddball hit that no one really expects to smash nor does it fit in with the sonic trend of that year... but it works for whatever reason. Find the hit of your assigned year that best fits the definition of an oddball hit.
Once you find a track for this part, once again explain why it is the oddball hit of the year to the best of your ability.
7. Outro - 2 Points
Wrap up any loose ends to your trinity here. Explain how these three songs come together to define all this round asked for and fill in any blank spaces while doing so.
That adds up to a total of 10 possible points this round.
Remember, only explain what is needed to get your point across. Get to the point then move on. There's no need to make this harder than it really is.
Below are the years you were all assigned. I purposely gave dwuw/Ares the same year to compare for the upcoming duel between the two but the rest of you were assigned randomly.

The deadline for this round is August 2nd at 1:30 PM PST Timezone. That gives everyone about 2.5 days to complete this round. Only take an extension if truly needed.
