tbh I think it could have been a hit, if she'd have announced it was a single in february and sent it to radios then, the video could have when it did and she could have performed it (was it letterman where she did art artpop?) on various shows
This is what ruined her chances. The era was already losing steam around January when DWUW was peaking at radio. She should've striked while the iron was a little hot and released G.U.Y. right away. In my opinion, she should've released Gypsy since it's a more universally appealing song but oh well.
