It's true. Let's be honest, ALL of these singing shows are here becuase of Idol and it's success. Even Simon said the show was lucky to find Kelly and not the other way around. If she were a huge flop and went nowhere, do you really think the show would have been popular enough to continue as long as it has? Kelly brought credibility to the show by proving it can create stars. That's why all the other networks threw their hat in the ring.
But back on topic, I said DEATH at people thinking Christina is the reason people are watching The Voice. The blind auditions are fun to watch and that's why people are watching, not because they're here for what Christina has to say.
And last night, I'm sure MOST people were tuning in to see Britney's debut and will continue to watch because of her. But I'm not delusional enough to say that in the future people will only be watching for her.
Just saying, watch The Voice sink when the blind auditions are over. The X Factor will likely drop too once the hype about the new judges ends. But I think at the end when all is said and done, X Factor will be the victor.
