It's not just about it being public. SYG is kind of the center of ATRL, and we don't want it to be an out of control cesspool.

That's how we "moderated" it in the past. But it's too much of a hassle when there are so many posts, and so many people bring their (often rightful) concerns to HQ, especially cause Lipton and I were the only active mods willing to moderate a thread that had so much filth in it.
