I'm so sad radio never gave IRLY a real chance, it could have been bigger, it's like they don't want her to be succesful. Now that it's doing good on iTunes and streaming i thought they would play it but no...
It did well in Canada in sales, but radio ignored it. Outside Canada, the only countries it did decently in were New Zealand, Spain, and South Korea. Tonight I'm Getting Over You performed much better WW.
I really don't get why callout scores are relevant. Sales and streaming are obviously showing a much larger interest from the GP than a small amount of users making some callout score. Like why play songs more than IRLY when they are selling much less: The Night Is Still Young, Calvin Harris/Pray To God, Adam Lambert/Ghost Town, etc.
Callout scores are supposed to gauge how much radio audiences like the songs they're playing. A song that is widely liked is going to get more radio play because programmers want to maximize their listenership. If a song doesn't appear to be well liked by radio listeners and it's not doing exceedingly well in other departments (sales & streaming), radio generally won't have any reason to keep playing it.
IRLY was improving from its pretty dismal first week callout scores but by now I think it's just kind of too little too late. They're still not really good scores by any means.
