Let me write my version of 'Pocketful of Sunshine'

Oh no, happy songs are not my forte. I have immunity though so I guess it doesn't matter that much. I'll definitely need the whole week to make my song convincing

I definitely didn't do well this week, and the only one I'm disappointed in is myself. The chorus shouldn't have been so uplifting and I know it wasn't good. As I was writing it I knew it was "too literal" but I had such troubles writing about my topic.. and I'm so upset in myself doing so poorly.

Asides from "Free", I never wrote a happy song. I feel like I'm going to have to find inspiration in order to find a happy topic to write about.. Maybe one of my customers will help me out while at work. If not, I think I have a story to write about.

It sucks that you guys didn't really understand my song. It's basically about how when you fall so hard for someone, you throw everything else away. You let yourself go and you give your all to that person to make them happy. Then that person takes everything you gave them and tears it up and throws it out like yesterday's trash. It can be a friend, a lover, a mistress, anyone.

Edit: I'm glad most of you overall thought I improved this week. That's all I can ask for.

It's too late now but an explanation of my song was to represent domestic abuse, that was the topic I was going for by using foreshadowing and metaphorical devices throughout. "Happy" is not my forte, so this will be a challenge but I aim to pursue it and perhaps it will branch my writing to cause me to become a better songwriter as I've done poorly so far.

I just wrote a song, but I'm afraid its too much of a love song and not a happy song. I tried to put as many references to happiness as I could, though. There's a few lyrics I might change, like me trying to relate happiness to Christmas morning . Its only the second day so I'll keep writing. I feel like I need something good to follow up last week's entry.

The thing about love songs; if it inspires happiness in the reader, than it's perfect for the challenge. The topic really doesn't matter as long as the feeling it invokes is apparent.
