The boosts will probably depend on how the audience feels about the song and not so much the performance.
Over-the-top shocking is kinda passé and what is expected of a performance artist like Gaga. Her video contained a ton of elements that made her famous, but the video only gave "Applause" a moderate increase. Plus, no one should expect a great live vocal performance from Katy. Some of her worst performances have proven to be huge boosters to her songs. So, yeah... it would depend on how the public reacts to each song than the respective performances. That's not to say that "Applause" can't or won't come out on top.
I was expecting Lorde to be in the low 20s. What is her streaming like? She might be near top ten next week
Her streaming is pretty awesome, #5 on Spotify with over 1 million streams. Her airplay is still building though, so top ten will probably be in a few weeks.
"Royals" and "Summertime Sadness" will break in sometime in September.
Does anyone find it weird that they didn't mention Brave by Sara Bareilles at all?
oops, i missed it. it was too far up in the article. here it is:
The song jumps from #66 to #46 in its 10th week, surpassing its initial peak at #61. The song sold 51K digital copies this week, up 80% from 28K last week.
