Lowkey even before the 90s. Madonna at least gets the respect of straight music bloggers, but in pretty much every era except maybe self-titled 1987 and Heart of Stone, Cher has been derided as a fad. Which is really a shame.
Some hipster straights have started using her though because she's so least straight-friendly it makes them seem open minded and edgy. Now that she's not as popular as she used to be as well, hipsters in general have found a new respect for her
