Yea I think Glamorous was "smashing" (hovering in the lower rungs of the iTunes top 100) prior to its radio release, so it was destined to be a big hit. The label probably wasn't expecting it to get such a big boost on iTunes after the video dropped, so that's probably why they decided to do it for that specific instance.
There's a post somewhere on UKMix that showed that her album sales were increasing whenever her label would make her singles "album only."
