if the person told you it was okay to go over, I honestly wouldn't put anymore thought to it. It they didn't want you there, they should speak the **** up.
But in your case it is ok, cos you called him before you came to him. The most annoying thing ever is when some ****ing uncle or whatever just knocks at your door unexpectedly and you just CAN'T tell him "**** you, not now bitch"...especially when you have a mess in your house/flat and when he/she has stupid personality. Happens to our family often that's why I am allergic to unexpected visits.

Well my parents wanted me to get out of the house or I was grounded, so I called my friend and asked if it was okay that I came over, and he said yeah. I just feel rude
NEVER just show up uninvited, that's rude. Don't just assume you're invited, but I think if you're friends asking if you can come over is fine.
If it's a friend close enough that I know they'd have no qualms saying "lol no **** off" and it wouldn't be awkward then I just say "hey, lemme come to your house!" if it's someone I don't know quite as well I ask politely and give them plenty of room to plausibly make an excuse if they don't want me.
No I hate it when my friend just tries to invite themself over. If you really wanan hangout you either invite me to your house or we go outside to hang.
Well they're my friend, I called him and asked if I could come over because my parents were mad at me and he said "Yeah sure" nothing else, so I have no idea
Yeah. Showing up unannounced is the most annoying thing. If you go over to the person and ask them to leave, you end up looking bad even though you didn't do anything. Calling and asking is somewhat better , but it could make things awkward for the other person if they want to say no
